Alpha Trion has multiple voice actors depending on his appearance. Cory Burton was a Young Alpha Trion.

Galvatron: Frank Welker

Frank Welker was the second Galvatron allthough he did technically start the role as Megatron Lenord Nimoy was the first to do Galvatron's voice for the movie. Frank took over the character again for the series season 3.

Hot Rod: Dick Gautier

Again Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime have different voice actors in the movie than for the series. It was Judd Nelson in the movie.

Teletran I: Casey Kasem

Teletran allso had a few different voice actors depending on the episode. I don't think anyone has voiced the computer more than once.

Ultra Magnus: Jack Angel
Unicron: Roger C. Carmel

Do you have some sort of grudge agenst the movie actors? You've failed to list them 5 times (that I cought).

You really shouldn't leave out Robert Stack (Ultra Magnus) and you ESPECIALLY can't forget about Orson Welles (Unicron) because Transformers was the man's last role before he died.

Orson Welles actully died after doing the voice recordings for the 1986 Transformers the Movie. He's the one actor from the movie they had to replace for the series. The others, I'm not sure what their deal was.

Wreck-Gar: Tony Pope

Eric Idle, again, movie.

I think that's the last of the movie only actors, I'm sure someone else will fill in the rest.

I've often heard tell, but have no evidence, that Orson Welles actually died prior to recording the last lines, and Leonard Nimoy finished it out, doing the voice for Unicron's death moans.

This could be total fan-invented nonsense, I don't know, but it's something I've heard more than once over the years.

Thanks for the great input. I was looking at only the series but hey it does not hurt adding the original movie as well as it is only fair too!

You know I have heard that too. Could be just speculation but I may add that as a side note on the final list. Thanks for the input!

I think that story was debunked by Flint Dille in one of the interviews they included with the '86 movie DVD. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I do remember they talked about that rumor a little bit.

I think that you are right. A light bulb just went on and I remember that being dealt with in the remastered release of the 86 movie! Thanks all for the input! Really helped out.

It was said on one of the DVD bonus features that was Orson Welles last movie. The only part that's made up is the part you said about Nimoy doing any of the recordings for Unicron.

You're probably right. Which release of the movie was it? I've got the Rhino "Special Collector's Edition" but as far as extras, all it's got are some storyboards and an interview with Vince DiCola.

I wasn't really aware there were more than 2 versions of the movie. VHS and DVD

Anyway I could pop the movie into my computer right now and find the extra but there's part of it where the people who actully worked on the movie were talking about the actors. It was said that Orson Welles was sick when he came in to do the voice recordings but he did do all his own recordings. It was till a few weeks after recording the movie that he actully died but yes that was his last movie and no Mr. Nimoy did not suply any of the recording for Unicron. What they did do was tweek Mr. Welles voice recordings so he didn't sound like a dieing man when the audience heard him.

Where'd I put that DVD, I can upload it to YouTube.

Most I heard from Orson's input was that they had to enhance his voice acting because his voice sounded terrible. I believe this discussion was in the DVD extras from what I remember.

I uploaded the video.

For once I actully remember more than the rest of you and I have the proof to back it up. The only thing I didn't remember was exactly how long after the movie he died.

This video is a little long and his death isn't mentioned till the end. You can see the video on my YouTube page.

Here is where the rummer gets into "Murky" ground.

Back in 86/87 [if I'm right, it could have been later] Leonard Nimoy himself confirmed that he recorded lines for the character of Unicron in a Sci-Fi magazine, Star Log I believe.

But what Nimoy did not confirm or could not confirm or would not confirm, was wether they used any of his recordings.

What I believe happened was, after Orson Wells recorded his lines and the producers werent happy with them.

So they had Leonard Nimoy record some, if not all, of the same lines.

And after Mr.Wells death they deiced to run his voice threw a synthesizer instead to improve his voice since it was one of his last works.

It's allso possible that either Nimoy or more likly the interviewer righting the article used the wrong name and it was actully ment to say Galvatron.

At any rate sence they said Orson Welles died died 2-3 months after recording the movie wouldn't the movie have allready been finished before he died? Well I guess that really depends on what was done first, the Animation or the voice recording. The recordings take ALOT less time than animation does but there are many different reasons why one or the other could of been done first.

When the animation is done first it makes it easier for the Actors because they can watch as they're recording it and see what they're supose to be reacting to.

When the recording is done first assumeing they film the recording sessions it can make things easier for the Animators. Offten times you can see a voice actor come out in his or her character not just hear them, that's because the animators are actully watching the actor and useing their moments for the animation. (depending on the actor some people are suprisingly animated for people who are never actully seen.)

Actully its not possible since the interviewer also asked questions about his work for Galvatron, siteing that he worked on both characters.

I dont see any reason to assume that.

They may have done Well's recording very early on in the production of the film or near its end.

He died in October of 85 but I have no clue as to when the movie was completed.

I know that a number of years ago I saw some footage of some of the voice actors recording their parts while watching the animation from the film.

But they were the regular cast members and none of the "Star" of the film.

Its possible they did things differently for "stars".

The movie first premeered in Theaters on August 8, 1986. Allmost an entire year after his death if your date is even accurate.

I remember that date from the original trailers on the DVD because August 8 is allso my nephew's birthday and I was born the same year the movie came out.

Oh, and the curse words, that part's nice. :)

The interviews with Flint Dille, Nelson Shin, and Susan Blu are all on Disc 2 of the 20th Anniv. Edition of the '86 movie (the one with Optimus holding the matrix, art by Don Fig). As for the cursing, I guess they did that so that it would get a PG rating and could be shown at certain times in the theater. They apparently wanted to attract the college student audience.

So they had Leonard Nimoy record some, if not all, of the same lines.

And after Mr.Wells death they deiced to run his voice threw a synthesizer instead to improve his voice since it was one of his last works.

I'm pretty sure Nelson Shin confirmed this in an interview on the DVD. If I remember correctly, he said that Orson Welles was having trouble breathing while recording his lines. I'll have to check my DVD again just to be absolutely sure.

The movie first premeered in Theaters on August 8, 1986. Allmost an entire year after his death if your date is even accurate.

I remember that date from the original trailers on the DVD because August 8 is allso my nephew's birthday and I was born the same year the movie came out.

3 source I checked have the date of Oct 10th 1985 as the day Orson Wells died.

And you do have the right date for the movies general release.
