Yeah, I do. The show has seemingly gone downhill. The first season, I could believe most of the stuff they found was believable. But now it seems to be all for ratings.

I think my fiance watches it, but I dunno. I'm not really interested in those shows, so I zoned out when it was on.

I watch it. I think it's quite interesting. I enjoy seeing them use a skeptical point of view to show evidence for hauntings and debunk hauntings.

I don't see how you think its gone downhill

To me its still the same and most times nothing happens and they debunk things

If it were for ratings we would hear and see more things going on

I used to watch it. I'd gladly take it up again, but I hadn't heard of any new episodes being aired for months. Have they continued yet?

Don't get me wrong here, I like the show and watch it often, but doesn't anyone else think that their attitude about debunkiung things is just a little suspicious? :-? I mean what better way to make the "evidence" you supposedly gather seem more credible than to act like you're out to debunk things. Make no mistake, they're out to convince people that ghosts exist.

That being said, I like the characters and I like the show but as far as beliving in ghosts, I'm not convinced. :D

Well, going from season one to three. Especially the third season, they catch something every time. The only time I even saw them attempt to debunk something this season(I think it was his season) was when they investigated the Jim Henson studio and caught something that looked like a woman on thermal, so they ended up slapping stairs next to where they saw it, to even try to recreate what they saw.

I don't blame TAPS, I blame Sci-fi, 'no ghosts' = no ratings. And I wouldn't put t past sci-fi to offer the TAPS guys money just to fake evidence and stage some things.

and Warhorse, as for TAPS debunking stuff, they did that way before they got the show on Sci-fi, which is the only reason why I still respect TAPS as a ghost hunting group.

Instead of just taking pictures, gathering video, and declaring places as haunted, they try to explain what they catch scientifically, which makes a damn good bit of sense. If you can rule out every normal explanation for a piece of evidence you gather, that makes that evidence much more compelling.

I love Taps real or not. Their common sense approach to "Ghost hunting" is the way I would do it, trying to dispprove rahter than prove.

Maybe rahter than showing 5 minutes of them trying to debunk things they'd rather show 10 minutes more of suspenseful ghost hunting. To me the amount that they catch really hasnt changed. Not like Most Haunted where every speck of dust is an orb and every knocking sound is a ghost wanting to communicate.

They still debunk plenty of stuff. Like that courthouse that was in their hometown or whatever. It had that security tape of a figure in one of the court rooms for just a frame or two then it disappeared. Sans actually editing the security recording itself they weren't able to reproduce the results.

That's what sets them apart in my book. Whatever they catch in real time they actively go out of their way to reproduce on the spot.

There was another episode aboard a ship where they caught the covers of a bed being pulled down. They managed to debunk that right away and had they been it for ratings they could have totally let that slip. The evidence they noticed is something I would have never caught in a million years.

The only cheesy moment I've seen in the more recent episodes was when they went to that house built on the Manson murder site. That "conversation" with the EMF gauge thingie? Yeah... though the temperature drop to the exact specified temperature on command was interesting.

I like it.

and maybe they are trying to show ghosts exist, but they don't go after every wierd noise as a ghost, they do debunk alot, even the stuff they can't debunk they only say it's 'possibly' a ghost

If nothing else we get to see Jay go through a mid life crisis with his shiny new earring and goatee and 20 something "hunter in training". Next he'll have a new TAPS Corvette. Although that giant square mass in the door way seemed a little odd...

I think last season was worse for Jumping the gun on "Haunted material". What I hate about the series is how some idiot editor goes back through and adds lame thrill music and nonsense images of skulls and black cats between scenes.

Personally, I wished they'd go back to the light house where they had so much activity with more cameras and a live net feed like the Halloween special.

I too enjoy the show and I really appreciate their methods of investigation.

As for the silly sounds and images added in editing, I don't like it either but I can't really fault sci-fi for that. Keeping the show interesting to people that don't normally watch shows like that is very important especially when TAPS doesn't find anything.

Yeah but all those added sounds tend to distract from the real noises they're hearing on the show. When they stop for a thump and it tends to get washed over with some note of excess thrill. I just find it distracting to the actual investigation.

Edit: Anyone else think that "black mass" from season one/two in the prison was faked. Maybe not by TAPS but that was definitely someone under a black sheet.
