I grew up in the Phillipines Voltes V was a huge cartoon series there that got me fascinated with the whole robot thing.Came to the states around 5 years old immediately fell in love with Robotech,Voltron and Transformers.I owned a few G1 Transformers that I got during holidays and birthdays I played with and envied the ones that my rich friend owned(almost all), I read and collected the Marvel comics.Then somewhere around age 17 I was persuaded to be "too" old to collect toys.So my toys which were pristine went into a storage box.After seeing the Bay movie something sparked inside me and made me open my storage box and I started to get this collecting bug.I increased my G1 collection,bought the entire G1 season dvd set and started watching the shows all over again,bought some Masterpiece/Binaltechs,Classics and own all the movieline so far.All I have to say is its great to be a kid again and I'm now 32

Grown-ups bore me too! I still race shopping carts in the grocery store, fer cryin out loud!

I'm not the smallest kid on the block (both size and weight) but there's nothing more fun than Shopping cart Athletics.

You can use the handle bar as a support and make pretty long jumps when you're on speed.
Or I try to make the cart (empty or loaded) do as much 360's as possible without touching groceries or grannies.

When I started buying again, I must admit I was a bit ashamed (so there's still a movie leader prime in gift wrapping here) but now I don't make excuses anymore that it's for my son of anything.

How I wish I grew up on G1. I'm the exact same age as G1, so obviously I didn't come home from school and watch it every day. Beast Wars was just one show I watched, as it held no true distinction. I grew up on Batman and Spiderman instead. Still neat to be able to enjoy something you loved as a child and watch it continually reinvent itself. In fact, I even dreamed that I was Spiderman again last night, something I haven't done in YEARS. I was fighting a giant old lady. Seriously. What a cool dream.

This makes me feel better, like I posted Earlier... i'm 24.

Eventually, I think shame will kick in for me because I feel weird walking into walmart and snagging some new TF toy before a little 6 year old can. Of course, I can work around that by just buying figures from BBTS, TFsource, etc...

ahh...that American issue of Puritan guilt....Something I am pretty much broke of! My money is just as green as a 6-yr old's, but mine is hard-earned! I have bought the last TF off the shelf right in front of Junior and Mommy before and had no guilty feelings whatsoever (the kid was a screamer and didn't deserve a toy anyways)!

I am such a meanie, I know...but I got it and they didn't!

I'm sure that's happened to every TF fan. There's been a few times where I've picked up the last of what a store had. Like when I got Voyager Ratchet, it was the only one left in the store, and I only found it because a friend of mine hid it behind some stupid Disney toy last time he was there. Every little kid walking past me just starred up at the box I was carrying, I dared not put that box down!

At least us old geezers can take solace in the fact we probably just saved that certain TF from a horrible fate, like being set on fire or busted apart at the snot covered hands of a little demon child

Can I get an "Amen"?? I remember when I was a kid, I was absolutely BRUTAL with my toys...heck, my G1 Optimus Prime was so abused, his smoke-stacks had been super-glued back on COUNTLESS times! Happens when you like to torment your Autobot-loving friends with torturing Prime in their faces!
Still, some guy bought him on EBay for a lovely dollar, even with the damage (he did, however, have all the weapons and accoutraments in the trailer...the rocket launchers still worked great, and Roller was totally intact) He was die-cast metal and could take such abuse...the TFs now are mostly plastics, which cannot possibly stand up to juvenile delinquency!

I am 29 years old and G1 came out when I was 5 years old. I remember a good portion of the episodes before I got a chance to relive my childhood again.

To be honest, Sherade dear, if you did not diss me for liking a better automotive product than you, I'd think you were mad at me.. Yer just jealous is all, and this I understand. Someday you will learn that I am right and you are wrong...Someday...when you actually start DRIVING a real car...
