how old can TF fans be??

There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

Soundwave and blaster had a big fight both got scrapped and rebuilt into Soundblaster and Twincast. (did I hear you say repaint right there) oh.. well.. they come with different cassettes

Soundblaster is a bad ass figure! must better then the Blue G1 figure. Funny you bring up blaster, because I think his name is something else but after he is rebuilt, they change his name to blaster.

Blaster is the Red G1 Autobot Cassette player talking in Rhyme (like wheelie, but less irritating) Twincast is a blue repaint from the Headmasters series (in Europe, Blaster got shot in the comics and rebuilt as Blaster)

* Blaster (Autobot, 1985/1986/2006)

Japanese ID number: 38, TFC-21

Originally a Microchange "Radi-Casse Robo" ("radio-cassette", you see), Blaster transforms into a "ghetto blaster" boombox. Pressing the "eject" button pops open his tape door, which can store a single microcassette Transformer.

Some releases of Blaster still retain the battery-cover back from the Microchange release (see Trivia).

Blaster was re-released in 2006 as part of the "Transformers Collection" "bookbox" series, packaged with Steeljaw.

* Twincast (Autobot, 1987/2006)

Japanese ID number: C-116

The first Blaster toy was redecoed and had its tape-door retooled in order to accommodate two cassettes at once. The clear-plastic part of the door was also changed to clear-red, so when certain cassettes were placed inside, the "secret plans" decals on them would reveal the "weak point" of either Fortress Maximus or Scorponok, much like using the tech-specs decoders. He came with Steeljaw, who was given one of these new decals.

In 2006, Twincast was reissued as an e-Hobby exclusive, this time packaged with the new character Flip Sides.

This is the Hong Kong dub of Headmasters... Better just watch the subtitled stuff.

that stuff shouldn't have left Canton in the first place...

Malay-English dub name: Billy / Blaster

I havent been able to find a subtitled copy of Headmasters anywhere. I dunno if I can say this here but a web site used to do that for us but they just stopped after episode 18 or so. I have the rest of the episodes in just Japanese or crappy english. They did a good job on victory/masterforce but hopefully they will finish Headmasters. :-(

I just cannot abide with Japanese animation on any level! I was shocked that I actually LIKED The Unicron Trilogy part of Armada...granted, the rest of Armada was pure garbage...along with Energon and Cybertron (I was forced to at least VIEW those, so I KNOW they suck the suck of a thousand sucks!)...I tried to watch Victory and Headmasters and a few other examples of Japanese TFs which I do not know by name because they were so atrocious I struck them from memory! Re-dubs are bad enough, but sub-titles?? HORRID!

but the music is so catchy lol.

watch the final battle between Star Saber and Deszaras

http://youtube.com/watch?v=pXisSeWZQwY

I like Headmasters, Masterforce and Victory because it seemed like a continuation of G1 to me. Wheeljack and perceptor appear in Victory for a couple of episodes as well! If you could just over look the crappy anime moments (waving hands and feet wildly), they are actually great shows. Those shows have great character development and people can die.

If I can find it, i'll post a link to the openning of masterforce. Its great, people die and a ship is sunk. Its not like American G1 were the people would all just swim back to land without injury.

It's strictly legislated that the maximum age is 30. Although in an alternate reality it's 21. Either way your palm flower will turn black on Last Day. At that point you have to take both yourself and your collection to the Sleepshop. The only other option is to become a Runner, but the Sandmen are cunning foes. :P

I'm just kidding. Who cares how old you are if you love something? I'll love Transformers until the day I die.

LOL too funny, love the Logans Run reference but yeah who cares what age you are and why then is it any different than liking anything else ?

Heh. I remember when I first came into this fandom in 1998 and I was 25. Most of the other fans at the time were like "Dood, u r like an old man and u r 2 old 2 be a TF fan!" Each year since, I've just smiled as I've watched fan after fan pass the 25-year-old mark and never stop to question if they've gotten too old for it.

being adult is awesome!
you get to do and buy things no matter what your parents say, you can stay up an watch cartoons all night, you get PAID to waste your time 8 hours a day and your brain actually functions!

for the most part

being a kid gives you the cool energy and life is vibierant and such, but the puberty, relationships, brain farts and people constatlly telling you what to do - - you can have it!

"Youth is wasted on the young"

for the most part

i can't imagine going into someplace and someone ordering me to stop chewing gum or to take off my hat. And those are just small things. Being young is lame.

I'll be 35 on the first of May. I've been a fan since 1984 and produced 2 little TF fans (ages 8 and 11). My original Transformer collection totaled 127 figures. Unfortunate circumstances led to those being sold in 1998 and now my kids and I together have a collection nearly 5 times larger than my original. And since I have kids, I have an automatic excuse for actually playing with the toys at my age. I plan on being a fan long after I'm laid to rest cause if I cant have faction logos carved into my headstone, then damn it I'm not going!

LOL! I thought I was the only one who wanted a Decepticon insignia on my headstone (and I even want one imbedded in the lid of my casket)...Maybe even be buried with G1 Megatron in pistol-mode in my cold, dead hands!

23 here. And, unfortunately, I've only just recently discovered the awesomeness that is TFs. Got to thank the Transformers 2007 movie for that, plus youtube for having G1 episodes (currently making my way through season 2 with a coupla friends).

I've sorta missed out on the older toys, I guess, and don't really have the ambition to go hunting for them---but at the very least, I'll hafta go buy my favorites in the new toys (even if they're not as cool as having the original 80's versions).

Congrats on your first post and.. the reason why most collect G1 is nostalgia.. don't spend your money on a MOSC Huffer when you can get a decent movie toy for it.

True. I'm really not much of a collector anyway, but still it would be fun to have some of my favorite G1 characters in toy form. :D

What I'd really like to get my hands on, though, are the G1 comics, but that's besides the point.

Why don't you buy some reissues? You can get the upcoming Jazz reissue for 30+ shipping I believe :-?

The only thing is..... you get addicted. I remember saying.... "OH CRAP.. I just need Devastator" and then it turned into an obsession but i'm good now. I only buy maybe 2 old Transformers a year now a days. So don't say you weren't warned.

Really? I just know the storyline is significantly different, and I'm curious. My local library has a couple issues that I've taken a peek at, but I really like starting at the beginning of a story if at all possible.

lol I dunno, I've been enjoying most of the various incarnations of the TFs that I've investigated so far. Well, 'cept for the Cybertron episode I caught, but still.

Its hard to get action in your college apartment when your room is full of toys :-?
