I think the plot should be that Starscream returns with a set of combiners and totally whips the Autobots into Submission. Prime now realizing they need some heavy duty bots to counter attack asks Sam if he knew of something on Earth that could withstand the brutal smack down they just recieved. He mentions to Ratchet dinosaurs, maybe as a joke. Ratchet creates the Dinobots out of Earth Metals and Prime brings them to life with the remaining energy in the shard of the All Spark he pulled out of Megs. But since the All Spark is incomplete it gives life to the Dinobots but limits their intelligence. The dinobots help the Autobots Defeat Starscream but in the process go berserk andhave to be put down by Prime and the other Autobots. Basically a rehashed cartoon version.

It's not a real vehicle, they made it for the film.

I won't be surprised if Bay makes the Dinobots not transform in dinos...

I've had this idea for ages for my Stopmotion series I'm planning, where they all land in Dinosaur times, the first out are the Decepticons who don't take on Earth Forms, then the Dinobots disguise themselves as Dinosaurs... badly... then the Autobots land, they all fight, the Dinobots set off some volcano, the magma covers the indestructible Cybertronian metal, the Autobots get frozen in the Ice Age later on. They're all trapped for millions of years, like in the cartoon, only more details and more science fictiony.
Then its something like Starscream, the Seekers and the Combaticons arrive later on Earth, Take over a certain triangle around the Bermuda area and take anything that comes in, harness it for energy and Alt modes But then again, its too late for that in the movies
