Still, everyone was optimistic as I was told to apply through the private sector for a student loan on-line. Then I found out that they rejected me.
So then I was told to go see my local banks and see what my options were there. Once again, denied.
So I am sooo screwed at the moment. I have 1 year left of school, and no way to finance it currently.
I think the big problem with trying to get approved is that I just bought a car a month ago ('02 Sunfire for $7100.00) and that loan will be over the next 5 years with payments of $160.00 (approx).
Combine that with $112.00 per month insurance, $335.00 rent, and $100.00 in utilities and I'm already pretty stretched to limit in expenses. That's about $700.00 per month alone, not adding food and gas.
I don't even know how much my income is going to be per month as I just switched jobs. I know it will be more, but I don't know HOW MUCH more. My previous job earned me about $800.00 a month.
To put on top of that, my parents need to co-sign on just about anything and their credit is, in a word, pathetic.
According to my bill from school, this coming semester is going to be $3535.00. So if I don't get a loan, then I'd have to pay it in cash, which, at the moment, I do not have.
I am so pissed off at the moment, partly because of how this affects me (and my sister as she is in the same boat), but mostly because of the fact that they waited till the last minute to tell me my financial aid is gone.
So, has anyone else had this kind of problem before in their lives?
