Ironhide vs Starscream (no alt modes)
a few weeks ago i decided id sit down and watch every episode of transformers and write up a list of each character and how many one on one fights they won, lost and fought to a no contest.
while i was doing it i noticed that during alot of random fight scenes where everyone was in robot mode and just brawling, starscream and ironhide were paired up on more than one occasion, neither showing much of an advantage over the other. the first time it happened was in more than meets the eye, and then again in changing gears. so for this fight their both in robot mode and unable to transform.
ironhide would have a duribility and experience advantage, and starscream would have a speed and agility advantage. ironhide is a hardcore vet whos not in as good a shape as he once was, and starscream probably hasnt had anywhere near the fighting experience ironhide has. ironhide has a huge variety of liquids he can use, including liquid nitrogen, and starscream has his null rays. so, who takes it?

Ironhide. Because he's nuts, and Starscream uses deceit and trickery in some case.

Ironhide would win for the same reason that Prowl would win from the earlier Vs. battle of Prowl vs. SS, which is that SS will pretty much figure he will win and then get blasted while talking about how great he is.

First, Ironhide freezes Starscream's mouth with some liquid nitrogen, then he dismembers him and plays golf with his left leg and head.

RAWR!!! I eat your face!!!

Heh... just kidding.
I'm a huge SS fangirl, but I'm thinking that Star would have to REALLY keep on his toes or Ironhide would blast him out of the sky...
Poor Star...

So
Ironhide wins

Well, I'm not a fangirl
but I still say starscream would win. Ironhide might be tougher, but just because no alt modes, doesn't mean Screamer can't use his nullray. And he can get out of Ironhide's blasts faster, while Ironhide is slower, Screamer would hit him a bunch of times by the time Ironhide can get a shot off. So, the fight would probably last a LOOOONG time, and Starscream would run his mouth all the while, but he would eventually wear down Ironhide and shoot/beat him into defeat.

Siren, I'm so disappointed in you. Stand by your Seeker, woman!
I'm obligated, as head of the Starscream Fangirl Harem, to say Starscream. And I suppose I should justify it. So.....ummmm... can he win by talking Ironhide to death?
In all seriousness, speed beats strength just about every time. If you can't land a punch because I duck out of the way, it doesn't matter that your punch had 8 million foot-pounds of pressure behind it.
It could turn into a matter of endurance--is Ironhide going to be able (with his age and all) to keep the monster punches coming longer than Starscream's going to have the juice to duck?
Actually, I could see Ironhide overcommitting to a punch or blow, losing his balance, and getting blindsided by Screamer. Probably in the back.
'Cause that's how Starscream rolls, dawg.
HK, Sister Machine Gun is the best undiscovered band of the 90s.

Hey he's hot, but he ain't perfect.
I'm rooting for him, but I'm not just a fangirl. I'm a realist too.
Ironhide isn't a pushover.
However if he did manage to defeat Star, it would ba a bittersweet victory.
He'd have to spend the rest of his days in hiding or rist retaliation from a legion of fangirls.

Just as a formality, I am not included in this "harem" you speak of.
I am a loyal fangirl (((Armada rulz))), and that's all.

I say, he has untapped reserves. You never know what's behind the bluster. I hate physical fights, and I've never started any, but I won more than my fair share. For example:
In Israel about 10 years ago, a girl on a trip I was working didn't quite get that you don't dress like a hoochie in a foreign country, especially if you can't handle yourself. Some guy in this club was really bothering her. First it was verbal. Then he kept trying to touch her. He was about 6'2". I'm 5'7". And disabled. I didn't want to get dragged into anything, but I didn't like seeing a teenaged American girl get molested even more. Anyone with a lick of sense would probably have bet on the guy to win that one. (For the record, he threw the first punch.)
Obviously, I won. Size don't mean everything. (Knowing pressure points helps).
Again, brute force vs sneaky subtlety? Don't be so quick to write off the sneaky.

First, it's entirely G-rated. You know my feelings regarding robots and sex, obviously. Bleurk. There's mostly just swooning and sighing. And cake. And those little finger sandwiches. Occasionally we take a break and watch "Chowder".
Second, more of him for the rest of us.

Third, sorry, *once again*, to have managed to offend/nauseate you. Please understand it's entirely unintentional. I don't actually try to offend you and this is not the first time I've used that word here, and you've never commented before. Otherwise, *obviously*, I would have not used it, out of respect for your feelings. Apparently I just rub you the wrong way. Every time I try to let my guard down around you and be a little jokey, somehow you get offended, and then I tense up.
I have never had a lot of female friends--to this day, except for my sister, all of my closest friends are male. I guess I just don't know how to deal with my own gender. (Which is ironic, since I'm a feminist and have spent my life trying to promote the idea that men and women aren't psychically different.) Even when I try, obviously, as here, it somehow manages to piss females off.
HK, anyone else want to tell me what I do that makes them sick so I can just have one massive apology-fest and get on with my life? To quote my adored Screamer, "COME ON!"

Which you really don't have to.
I was just making a comment. You could have ignored it because it wasn't in anger, irratation, or anything like that.
The excessive appology was unecessary, but thanks for trying to make it better.
I honestly hate the word "harem". You can be the leader of that if you want.
I'm offically starting the the Starscream Fangirl Alliance. I elect myself president.
Bring the harem over, we'll do brunch.
SP, is a fan of Breakfast-lunch.

Honestly, I think that Ironhide would win. It's not because Ironhide is my favorite character. Screamer is my second an I always thought that those two had the second best rivalry. First being of course Optimus Prime and Meagatron. I love both characters but Ironhide would probably win because of the strength Ironhide has. He's also much wiser and has way more experience. I also agree with the others. If Starscream would shut up for a few seconds he might win, notice I said MIGHT.

Take away Starscream's alt mode, you take away his biggest advantage over Ironhide. This is a pure handicap match. Ironhide wins, maybe easily.

Even without alt modes Screamer can fly. He is fast as hell, i see it playing out with Screamer going hand to hand then taking off and blasting Iron Hide from the air while dodging iron hides return fire.
in the end Screamer wins.
in the end Screamer wins.

S has faster reactions so therefore I gets null rayed. S shoves a cluster bomb forcefully down I's throat. I's innards are smashed to smithereens. I dies. S wins.
