Is there a G1 DVD collection that doesn't suck?

There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

Is there a G1 DVD collection that doesn't suck?

I know the Rhino release did. It's like they gave us the Beta versions or something. What about this $150 one? Collectable case, 16 page booklet, interviews etc. Are the shows themselves quality or still the lame Rhino kind where Starscream will randomly change to Thundercracker's colors?

I have the one your talking about and for the price is pretty darn good. All you have to do is change the language setting on your Dvd remote or T.V. don't try to figure out the languages on the Dvd menu. You get all the seasons and the 86 movie plus a bunch of extras with it cards, keychain, collectors tin ect. Like i said for the price pretty darn good. The quality is really good too the picture and sound are enhanced and not like vhs. In my personal opinion you wont find a better set than this especially for the money. You can pick one up on ebay like i did for anywhere between $75-$125 instead of the hundreds of dollars you'll spend on the complete rhino versions between $200-$400!

That was a result of production problems at the time of it's original creation and in the transfer over certain scenes just got mixed up...it's well known that the original 35mm film they had to work with was in absolutely horrible condition.

Poor sound, finger prints, hair, dirt and strips of film literally falling apart.

For the condition it was in I thought they did a great job. :P

I have the Rhino set and I think it is excellent in terms of quality and sound. The animation errors are from when the original series was released so that can not be changed. In terms of the language settings, you can set your DVD player to English only, play the discs on your computer, or on a PS2, XBox 360, etc. As for the price, I got mine for $75.

Some yes were original production errors, believe it or not I remember a lot of those from when watching them when they first came out. Rumble changed colors a lot too and the seeker jets were notorious as well just to name a couple.

Some of the scenes that just do not match the vocals or otherwise were however due to the fact that Rhino had to manipulate the footage that was salvageable to work with but there were a lot of production errors to begin with.
