More Mattel Toys recalled.

This includes some Batman and One Piece toys, so heads up. You may live, but your three eyed children might ask why everyone calls them freaks?!?

What I really want to know is if you guys really think the Chinese factory owner really committed suicide or is a victim of the wrath of bad PR for China?

Do the Chinese have the same sort of moral highground as the Japanese?

And this is a brand new topic because?
There is already a topic about the recall.

You know, I see this as "divine" punishment for Mattel canceling the He-man line.

A toy recall in the millions! Man, they have to crack down on quality control in China. In addition to their poor food quality and lead paint toys, they have huge counterfeit drug operations going (Viagra made out of drywall!). It's insane.

I had heard about this earlier as well. Pretty grim situation for anybody to be in. I was kinda worried because my kids like Hot Wheels, which I know isn't on the list, but it dosen't mean it won't be eventually. I've already made it a point to explain to them that they shouldn't be putting toys in their mouths for that reason. My daughter caught on pretty quick...my son I don't think really cares...but they're 5 & 3 respectively, so he's still getting out of the age where he puts stuff in his mouth & dosen't listen to parents.

...sigh.....the joys of parenthood.....

Try ages one and two and tell them not to put stuff in their mouths! And they don't listen worth a damn either.

Honestly I have a 2 and half year old and this is not funny..
Kids no matter how much we tell them not to still put things in their mouths..
Now this girl was 7...
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

That's my point. I have a toddler myself and I am fully aware of what kids are capable of doing.

As sad as it is, a seven year old should have known better and it looks like they had to learn the hard way. :?

I feel sorry for the parents because $40,000 is an awful lot to spend on something that could have been avoided.

Most kids stop putting things in their mouths at around 3 or 4 but 7 you would think they know better...

It's all well and good to say that a kid should not be putting stuff in their mouth at that age, but the reality of the situation is that the resulting effects of such action are not in proportion to the possibility of death.

Is the kid stupid? Probably. Could it have been some kind of odd mishap? Maybe. Anyway you slice it, the potential damage in comparison to the culpability of the minor does not add up to a situation where we can look down on the kid for the mistake.

It's not like the kid was getting high on gasoline fumes, juggling knives, or otherwise handling items that it should not have been. The parts came off a toy and no child is going to have the ability to say, even though this part is very small, it may cause massive internal injury, even at 7 years old.

From the sound of the incident, it might have been an accident the kid didn't think much about. It said she stuck the toy's clothes in her mouth to hold it while messing with other parts of the toy...& apparently while doing that the magnets came loose from the clothes. It might have just fallen in her mouth just right that she ended up swallowing it accidentaly, & just didn't tell her mom. I know my kids have done some things similar that they didn't tell us about because they were afraid of being repremanded for it....same thing could be here.

Hell, My daughter just this last week at church nearly flooded the bathroom. She had to go before the water was turned on (small church, they turn everything off when it's not in use, even the water)...& then she went to wash her hands...turned it on...nothing happened...for some reason decided to put the plug in the sink....& then walked off & left it...didn't tell us a thing about it...not even when she went back again to check on it...she just said she had to go again. We got suspicious, my wife went to check on her, & the sink was overflowing. We were lucky it didn't cause any water damage. Not harmful to her in anyway, but it does illustrate that kids don't always tell parents what they do untill it's too late.

I know...preaching to the choir here....

It was mainly for the members here that don't have kids.

Amen brother! Karma came and bit Mattel right in their arse. Never was able to get the figs I really wanted (Teela and Evil Lyn) without having to take out a loan. Thank goodness for the NECA statues. At least there is a Sorceress out which I really want.
