MP-11 Starscream
- Motto: "Be Quick or Be Dead"
- Weapon: Light-Saber Sword
so i got mp-11 a while ago (still prefer walmart mp-3 starscream) and my whole figure is a semi milky silver / greyish plastic. this looks terrible... the nosecone is gray properly, so why not the whole figure?

The nosecone is black plastic that's painted gray, paint always looks different from plastic.

I feel like the name "Masterpiece" is a misnomer. Few, if any, MP figures could truly be called masterpieces. "Collector's Edition" would be a better name for these figures.

i understand that... but if you look at official pics he is a nice solid grey all over... why didnt they just use a gray plastic, not this shimmering silver / gray

Because they wanted to use that colour plastic to be closer to the animation model maybe? And normal gray plastic looks utterly hideous and super awesome cheap.

to be closer to the animation model? no starscream is not a faggy vampire that sparkles or shimmers... he is plain grey with the red & blue parts... the grey on the nosecone is how the entire figure should be.

Nope, as it's my least favourite part of that toy, I really like the shimmer of it, much better than crappy light gray plastic.
And if you want the entire figure to be that shade of gray, spray paint it in black and then in gray. Plus if the toy pisses you off so much, why even get and keep him?

One warning for you man. The comment is not necessary at all.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

I'm getting real tired of your garbage. If you want to be a part of this site then I suggest you keep such opinions to yourself. Everyone else is more than capable of contributing to a discussion without having to resort to insults, why you continue to have trouble with that despite numerous warnings is beyond me.

I don't think it looks bad. Hasbro's blue TC finish actually feels more premium quality, though (despite the unnecessary tattoos).

I honestly don't like the MP-11 mold, I'm glad I have Starscream, but it feels cheap with its light thin plastic and floppy chest/shoulder area. Plus it is a difficult transformation.

I'm a Starscream nut. However, I dont feel the need to own MP-11 mainly because of the price... and the fact that I have THIS:

I'd still want MP-11, but only if I can find him for around 100$ shipped.

Cool, but 'toon accuracy is the main concern for me. If I were in your shoes I'd sell both of those MPs and put it towards MP 11. The new legs, arms, null rays, and head, especially the head, are such huge improvements.

Wait a minute, aside from the side wings hanging out like samurai swords, the original MP Starscream is the most accurate (smirk and all) to the show.
Good for you "K" for getting the ghost version.

Yeah, and it was so "cheap" too! I got it for only 110$ shipped from China at the time.
Now it's... 133$ shipped at the bare minimum. Still reasonably priced.
What really cost a fortune is the lighting arangement. LED lamps were still expensive just a few years ago. So if I count all the lamps, plexiglass, wood, and paint, it costed nearly 200$ to make my MP screamers, especially the Ghost one, look glorious.
And you know what? no regrets at all.

Btw, a little bit of advice, those lights tend to "discolor" the figure in the long run.

Beleive me I did my homework beforehand. That's why I paid so much for the LED lighting. They are not supposed to discolor or yellowing anything. Beside, the lights are not on very often. Only a few hours when I feel like it.

Is any light safe for our sacred molded plastic? I keep my figures away from direct sunlight, but the lights in my apartment are the CFL variety. Will switching them out for regular incandescent bulbs or halogen bulbs prevent photodegredation?

Leave hallogen lights af far away from your home as possible. They use up lot of energy and the lightbulbs get so hot they are a goddamn FIRE HAZARD. No ****, I almost set fire to my appartment because of that hallogen crap. Never again.
It's the UV rays you have to worry about because they are the one who dry out and yellow plastics. I say, go with LED lamps. They dont emit UV rays and they use up very little electricity. They should not be as expensive today as they were before.
