I wish I had the talent to make it lol, I got it from play.com, IIRC for just under £100 (about $200)
There's a light in the base, when it's switched on, it shines a different colour light up into the matrix, so it looks like the crystal in the center is glowing. On the back of the base is a replica of the key to vector sigma, with what looks like a magnet or something on it, so I could have the base switched on, but the light won't project unless the key is inserted into the back of the base
IIRC, they were limited to 1000 pieces, and I think mine is 256 (not looked at the bottom of the base for awhile), you also get a certificate of authenticity with it
As I've got really slender fingers, I'm able to get my fingers into the slots
