Just chalk that up to a good play by lewis. The coach can only do so much on the sidelines, but if the guys on the field dont tackle or block then the blame falls on them.

What a crappy week for me. A pathetic 8-8 in my pics...then again there were a LOT of upsets. At least I picked the Jets-Pats game right...heh heh.

New England might have good reason to panic. It doesn't look like the Hoodie's cheating...ERRRRRRRRR...game plan is helping much. Brady is looking like the QB that never started in college. Randy Moss is looking old. THe defense is banged up pretty bad. Not looking good at all...

I always knew Mike Singletary would be a great head coach. He's taking a SF team with mediocre talent and turning it into a contender. Way to go, Samurai Mike!

I am actively pulling for the Bears to have a 4-12 season despite them being my favorite team. I want to lose Ron Turner and Lovie Smith. They need to be gone. Bring in Bill Cowher. He's a perfect fit for the Bears, in the same tradition as Ditka and Halas. Here's dreaming...

My picks for this week:
Baltimore over Cleveland (this will cost Brady Quinn his starting job)
Detroit over Washington (Yes I think the Lions will pull this one off and win for the first time since Christ came)
Houston over Jacksonville (Andre Johnson is hitting his stride...look out Secondaries everywhere)
Atlanta over New England (Desperation will not help the Pats)
Green Bay over St. Louis (0-16 for the Rams is looking mighty possible)
NYG over Tampa (watch out for Cadillac Williams' resurgence in TB)
NYJ over Tennessee (The Titan defense is MIA)
Philly over KC (Even Kevin Kolb will look like Joe Montana against KC)
Minnesota over SF (Niners run game will be nonexistant against the Vikings D)
New Orleans over Buffalo (Drew Brees is going for 60 TDs this year)
Chicago over Seattle (upset pick; without Hasselbeck and Houshmanzadeh Seattle can't score, especially against an apparently revitalized Bears D)
Pittsburgh over Cincinnati (not solid on this one but Ben is better than Carson at this point)
Denver over Oakland (both teams will try really hard to give the game to the other; this is our "festival of suckage" game)
San Diego over Miami (CHargers D is too harsh to fall to the wildcat offense)
Arizona over Indianapolis (over-under on this game is 310 pts...:-P)
Dallas over Carolina (Romo sucks less than Delhomme and has better receivers overall to throw to; but it's close...)

So just exactly how many times are the Cowboys on national TV this year? Isn't it like 14 out of 17 weeks? And is it just me or does Jerry Jones have so much Botox in his forehead his eyebrows are in his receding hairline?

Adrian Peterson is going to break the single season rushing mark this year. 2,500 yards, I think.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

If you've actually watched Raiders/Broncos games, there is no suckage, there's a huge rivalry and those games are some of the most heated battles. Sigh, whatever, I get it, you don't like the Broncos so I'm not even going to argue

I went 8-8 as well but I didn' pick the Jets.

New England might have good reason to panic. It doesn't look like the Hoodie's cheating...ERRRRRRRRR...game plan is helping much. Brady is looking like the QB that never started in college. Randy Moss is looking old. THe defense is banged up pretty bad. Not looking good at all...

Yeah f**k the patriots.

My picks for this week:
Baltimore over Cleveland (this will cost Brady Quinn his starting job)

And most likely his health. Go Ray Lewis.

NYJ over Tennessee (The Titan defense is MIA)

Sadly. I didn't think Albert Haynesworth leaving would be such a big deal.

New Orleans over Buffalo (Drew Brees is going for 60 TDs this year)

As long as he doesn't break Marino's yardage.

Chicago over Seattle (upset pick; without Hasselbeck and Houshmanzadeh Seattle can't score, especially against an apparently revitalized Bears D)

That's not an upset, I would pick Da Bears even if Hosyodaddy was healthy.

Arizona over Indianapolis (over-under on this game is 310 pts...:-P)

 But I'll take Indy.

Adrian Peterson is going to break the single season rushing mark this year. 2,500 yards, I think.

He's on pace for that, I heard. Sick.

Actually Denver is a team I frequently root for. I always liked Mike Shanahan. I also know that the Raider/Broncos rivalry is one of those big ones. At this point though, neither team has been impressive overall. As a Bears fan I also am familiar with what Kyle Orton is capable of (or rather NOT capable of) having watched him for the last few years. Denver's D was rather pathetic last year and not much better this year as of yet. And it really kinda sucks to say that. The Raiders are just always bad. There are really only a few NFL franchises I actively root against: the Cowboys, the Patriots, and the Raiders. In two of these cases, I can't stand the owners (Jerry Botox and Al-zheimers Davis). The Pats are because of head coach Hoodie Cheater.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

I also can't stand the Pats for the same reason i can't stand the Ratcox and the Celtics: the fans. Just like Yankees fans. All the same. Just root for opposite ends of a "rivalry." And yeah, Belicheat doesn't help either. I wonder how good those baseball teams could be if MLB had a salary cap and some umpires who can actually see the ball. But this is the NFL thread, so...

I also constantly root against Denver, but only because I could never stand that horseface (how appropriate) Elway. And San Diego. Because of LT. HYPE. And of course the Eagles, because of both McNabb and Vick. McNabb is a bum and Vick can burn in hell, and hopefully I can light the match.

San Diego has a lot more than just LT. Rivers put up nearly 500 yards passing on the #2 defense. Lil Man sproles is a threat almost everytime he touches the ball. We've got the players, just need to get everyone in sync.

I have no problem with Sproles or Rivers, though Rivers could use an attitude adjustment. But the talent is there. but LT is a piece of crap. SD is like Buffalo of the West. Close, but no cigar. But at least they didn't do it 4 times.

The problem is the head coach Norv Turner. He fails at everything he does. He is part of the reason that the Redskins are still recovering from being bad. SD would have been better off retaining Marty Schottenheimer. At least his face didn't look like the moon's surface. Everything Norv touches goes to hell in a handbasket.

He has heart and an arm. But someone should punch him right in the face sometimes. But that's alright. he's my starting QB on my fantasy team. :P LT still sucks.

There are a few QB's like that. My Bears have Jay Cutler, who could stand to be knocked around sometimes. Millions want to punch Michael Vick...or electrocute him like he did his dogs. Brett Favre anyone? He changed his mind more times than Ross Perot running for President...

Yeah, Cutler could probably use an asswhippin' or 2. But he usually gets it. :P He's just too dumb to learn. And yeah, there are a lot of disgustingly torturous things I can think of doing to Vick. As for Favre, I always liked him (as a matter of fact I hated the Broncos ever since they beat the Pack in the Super Bowl) so I honestly don't care what he does. Yeah, it's probably a bit unfair to sit out trainign camp and just roll in and start the season, but the guy is 39, it's not like he needs training. And with his experience and accomplishments, he's earned his way to anywhere he pleases.

Detroit...WON?!?!?!?

...I'd say it was time to start going to church more, but it was the Lions...not the Cubs...heh heh.

Brett Favre may be a mediocre QB right now, but he gets it done when it counts. That was a hell of a catch to win that game...how he managed to get both feet down in bounds is just incredible.

THe Bears win ANOTHER game they shouldn't have. We lost ANOTHER middle linebacker. I hesitate to see what the Bears would be capable of if they actually had wide receivers capable of running proper routes...it would be incredible.

Detroit...WON?!?!?!?!?

Arizona looks like they have the Super BOwl Loser Jinx. If they could be consistant, they would be a force. But they can't run the football.

Can someone PLEASE tell me how the BUNGLES beat the Steelers??

OKay, maybe people didn't give Mark Sanchez enough credit. The kid can flat out play. THe Jets may be the team to beat in the AFC East thanks to him. Damned impressive...props to the Jets on a 3-0 start- the first time in NFL history a QB has started the first three games of his rookie season and won them all. I see big things for him in the future...

...did anyone see Kenny Mayne's little thing on the NFL COUntdown? I never realized how much Joe Montana looked like Barry Manilow... weird...

Looks like a 12-4 week again pending the outcome of the Dallas-Carolina game...
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Oh yeah...I figured that went without saying. I'd almost feel sorry for them except that almost all of the Raiders fans I've encountered personally were a-holes. You don't suppose that those fans are waiting for Al Davis to kick the bucket do you? It'd be like the Chicago Blackhawks after Bill Wuertz died. The very next season they were so improved they made the playoffs. WHat's sad is that ol' Bill had said he wasn't going to draft Kane and Toews because they were too "expensive"...the minute he died, they drafted em. See where being Scrooge gets you? Al Davis could learn a lesson from him...

Yeah, Sanchez is definitely making the Jets look smart for drafting him. And they beat my Titans. :? WTF is in the water in Nashville this year anyway? Or the Gatorade. or whatever the hell they drink. :?

I am also happy for the Bears and the Bengals. I laughed so hard when I heard the squealers got beat by Cincy. Right on. Not as much as I laughed when I saw the highlights of Ravens practice against Cleveland. I was tempted to wear my Ray Lewis jersey but I didn't want to get shot or stabbed. Maybe tomorrow. As for the Bears, they better start signing some linebackers, because at this rate, they'll be 15-1 with an injury reserve full of linebackers.

So what's everyone's picks for this week?

Detroit over Chicago in an upset. Likely last second or OT Field Goal.
Cincinnati over Cleveland in a blowout.
Houston over Oakland in a close one.
Indy over Seattle in a blowout.
Tennessee over Jacksonville in a close one.
New York Giants over Chiefs in a blowout.
Baltimore over New England in a close one.
Tampa Bay over Washington in a close one.
Miami over Buffalo in a close one.
New Orleans over New York Jets. If they were in New York for this one, I'd probably pick it the other way.
Dallas over Denver in a blowout.
San Fran over St. Louis in a close one.
San Diego over Pittsburgh in a close one.
Minnesota over Green Bay in a blowout.

So far this season, I'm 30-18, which isn't bad, but week 2 killed me. 12-4 last week...

For this week, this is a mess. Lot of games that could go any way.

Chicago over Detroit...if this was in Detroit I'd go the other way I think.
Cincinatti over Cleveland...if there is a worse team in the NFL than Cleveland I don't know who it is...
Houston over Oakland...Andre Johnson will have a big game
Indy over Seattle...another I'd pick the other way if in the other yard
Jacksonville over Tennessee...Titan D is terrible...even the Jags O can run over it now
NYG over KC...by 20 at least
Baltimore over NE...Pats still aren't looking good. Ravens D will squish em
Washington over TB...I'm calling a 3-3 tie in this one...
Buffalo over Miami...nothing straight on this one...call it a hunch
New Orleans over the Jets...Can't stop em...Brees is unstoppable and can't lose even when he doesn't throw a TD.
Denver over Dallas...I'm a believer now
SF over St. Louis...maybe the only team close to being as bad as Cleveland...ok, seriously they are worse...
Pittsburgh over San Diego...home field is the decider..plus Polamalu may play which would change that D completely
Minnesota over GB...the running game will be the difference

On a non-NFL side, I found the Wal-Mart exclusive ultras today here in town...picked up Powerglide...good hunting all.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

The bottom half of the AFC West. K.C. and Oakland

Last I read polamalu was still out, and its gonna be a crap shoo, Regular season last year San Diego matched up real good and only lost on a safety I beleive. This year both teams are a shell of themselves, but I think San Diego is closer to putting it all together. L.T. was back in pads yesterday and it he holds up for sunday hopefully that will help the red zone for them. And Denver will start losing soon enough. Hopefully starting this week and will be 3-3 by the time they come to S.D. on a monday night.
