Nosecone's vehicle mode leaves a bit to be desired, but I'm pretty satisfied with his robot mode.

The change I like most about this one is his face. It was so lifeless before and now he has some personality!

What's your problem with the vehicle mode? The only issue I see is that in some pics it looks a bit wonky... but then in others it looks absolutely fine. Is it just more difficult to line parts up for the mode now, or is there actually stuff out of whack?
I'd be interested (as I'm sure a lot of others would be) to know what parts you used on these bashes...

The only problem I really have is like you said, it's harder to line stuff up properly than it was before.

For Nosecone's knees I just drilled a hole through the area where the leg connects to the thigh and pushed a pin into it. For the top of the legs I used joints from Cybertron Mini-con Skylynx. The elbows are the knee joints from the same figure. The waist is from the Demolition Mini-con team member that's a front end loader, Sledge is it? I took the area that fromed his shovel/shoulder and cut it to fit in the cavity behind Nosecone's chest. I used the shovel joints from the same figure and cut them to shape to make shoulders. The elbows are the knee joints from that Skylynx figure. All of the smaller gestalt guys necks came from Sledge's waist ball-and-socket joint.
