I can't believe the fans banded together to bring this piece of crap into existence... a female Thrust with robot legs on top. Unbelievable. This fandom is sinking Transformers faster than Hasbro ever could. Most of these fans hate G1, but gush over G1 Thrust VTOL fans, color scheme and Nijika's corny head put onto a fembot. I swear, if I were a Hasbro exec I would have thrown the fan poll results onto a stack of old junk mail and just ordered up a WFC style Generations Slipstream.

I totally agree. When they say "fan made" character, do they mean a collaboration of many fans ideas combined into one character ? Or did one fan win a contest and got their character an official license ? I wanna know who to blame for that stupid geisha head...

I forget if botimus mentioned, can the vtol thrusters swivel to face forward like in the comic?

on that note... I feel like we should have gotten to vote on at least two or three design sketches and/or head sketches after the polls that determined the details of the figure. Really, we got to vote for the gender, alt mode type, job and name, but we didn't get any say in what came out of that. I personally like the figure, and don't mind the kabuki player head that much, (though I agree it doesn't hold a candle to the comic character expression-wise), and they didn't have any obligation to do those things, but I think more fans would appreciate it if they felt more ownership of the design itself.

A Collab of many idiots, or one idiot with a **** tonne of free time on his or her hands clicking the most cliche bo'**** they could think of to cram into one character.

I'm with you though, Geisha head is pretty bad.

This guy knows what's going on. WFC Generations Slipstream would have been much better. We have a gazillion characters in Transformers anyways, so lets actually spend some time to flesh those out, as well as give them the great figures they deserve.

Windblade looks alright in robot mode, with the head being the exception. It's not super ugly, to be honest, it's just so very Asian/human looking that it kills the alien robot look completely. Might as well have been another Nightbird. And don't get me started on that alt mode. Those legs are pretty much impossible to ignore. It's legs on a jet.

This is a prototype. Give it a chance or wait for the Tomy version. You'll be surprised how new paint apps/plastic difference and you'll be loving the fig.

I should say that I don't mind the character. It's just the head I don't like. And the weapon choice. I never thought I'd get so sick of swords. At least she isn't a motorcycle.

In alt-mode she will literally have her legs in the air all the time!

No amount of paint apps can correct this fanwank disaster.

Look at that piece of junk! You can see right through the middle of the alt mode due to the large gap between its legs. Not to mention the fact that it is really small. I can imagine how paper thin the plastic is on this thing as well.

$16 for this? They can keep it. I wouldn't pay $10 for it at the current and temporary reduced price point. And by the time this wave hits shelves the price will be back up to $15 and maybe even $16 since Hasbro has increased the price point a $1 per their title cards when they did their reveals.

It is insanely stupid too. Why would an advanced alien race of transforming robots decide that looking like a Japanese Geisha girl's face would be a good idea? Not to mention when choosing its weapons (and I say it because the ideology that robots have gender to begin with is so stupid it is not even funny)it decided to choose a sword over advanced laser weapons. I see it fighting a deception and it going down just like the guy with the sword in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Furthermore, I fully agree with the guy above who said Slipstream would have been way better of a choice. Anything but this slew of obscure characters that we have coming out. Save Arcee, but even it is a joke with its car backpack.

Because it's different and it looks cool/cute? I do think the face is a bit stern, but I for one love the Japanese theme. I mean, if you're going to name a character Bumblebee when his home planet is totally devoid of actual bumblebees, then this doesn't seem too much of a stretch.

(Also technically it isn't geisha makeup, it's done in the style of a kabuki performer, hence the red and blue face paint.)

Myself, I'm just hoping the inevitable Slipstream redeco has a remolded head with Chinese "odango" buns.

It's taken this long to get a decent amount of female Transformers (not to mention a leading role femmebot that isn't called Arcee or Blackarachnia) and you're complaining about that?

I'm just waiting for a Transformers universe where femmes aren't some rarity or mystical mutation, and are just part of Cybertronian society. (Heck, Transformer sex changes would be pretty easy- it's just a matter of switching a few parts after all!

Of course, when Grimlock does it, it's fine and dandy and everybody loves him, because GEEWUN.

Personally I think they should have gone with a naginata (Japanese glaive/polearm) rather than a sword, as the naginata is traditionally used by women.

Because how DARE the writers want to make a new and original character that didn't already exist in an old and terrible merchandise-driven cartoon from the 80s! Death to innovation!

Also, considering Slipstream has (to my knowledge) far less backstory than Windblade...Hypocrisy much? I mean, yes, she was made before Windblade, but then B.O.T was made before the movies- should we have forsaken the 2007 movie in favour of a live-action remake of B.O.T?

(I'm still waiting for someone to resurrect Atari Hitotonari of Kiss Players infamy as a cigar-smoking hardass alien hunter riding in a customized police car, though...)

Slipstream came before Windblade, and therefore already had a backstory, regardless of how developed it was, before Windblade. The complaints against Windblade was the fact that they are introducing a new Character EVEN THOUGH there are tons of old characters that already have, bare minimum, a cameo or tech specs to go from and develop. Developing a character like Slipstream would be just as good as creating a new character since, as you felt yourself, there was barely anything to Slipstream as of yet anyway.

I forget the rest of the points made, but man, enjoy Windblade if you enjoy it. Just don't take the complaints so hard that it deters your own enjoyment. I REALLY want to like Windblade coz I love me some fembots, and just like Airachnid (but better I'm sure), the figure doesn't look very good. It's especially easy to hate on Windblade now that her figure looks pretty crappy at least by most other great TF standards, in addition to her being a new character that has a kabuki face of human origin. For the record, I've read a bit of Dark Cybertron with her in it so far, and she doesn't strike me as anything special. I much rather read more dialogue between Chomia and Nautica, who seem much more interesting already.
