Question on the comics

Postby Erailea » Mon Jul 11, 2011 10:45 am

I'm not overly familiar with the comic end of Transformers but I've been thinking of getting into it. I was wondering where people thought a good start would be. I was also wondering how, online, you can tell the difference between the compilation volumes and the individuals. Occasionally I've noted terms like "omnibus" and what not to differentiate, but not all of them seem to have that :/ And I can never actually find the super cheap volumes in stores (the $2-5 comics), only the bigger $20+ ones.

I actually came and specifically asked because a friend showed me the art of one of the comics and I was trying to discern if they had a compiled version or not (the art dragged me in ^^;; Not to mention it's a character I love). It's this one: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-comics/transformers-ironhide-comics-78/

I want to guess the final one is the compilation because it's more expensive than the rest on Amazon and it lacks a volume number, but we all know how sites like Amazon work. I didn't see any notations marking it was a compiled version either ^^;;

So any help on that and where a good place to start is would be greatly appreciated.
