It's ok, it was years ago. I'm happily married now. Word to the wise: if you don't have working brakes, don't drive 70 MPH down a windy road where dump trucks frequent!!

Well, the dumptruck was going the speed limit, but my bf went around a corner going that fast, using the emergency brake as the brakes. A dump truck going 45+ Honda Accord going 70= disaster. His car was ripped almost in two. No seatbelt, no airbags. Poor, poor judgement. I met the dump truck driver months later at a gas station, filling up the truck! It had blue paint on it, the paint from the car. Weird stuff.

I had just got home from school, and it was on the news.

I was at school, i learned when i got home for dinner, as i lived close to my elementary school back then...

Everybody freaked out, even if it was far away, a country away, in fact! I mean...those tower where reduce to slag, any big structure could suffer the same fate, no matter where you live.

Anyway, i got MY opinion on waht REALLY happened that day. No one beleive me, and i don't care.

I was in year 10 at school. I worked out the timings and I was in a 'Graphics Design' class. No one in the school mentioned it until I got home and my mum told me planes had flown into the towers.

I remember standing in the lounge watching it dumbstruck. I didn't move the entire time. My mum went into the kitchen to start tea and I remember shouting her that one of the towers was collapsing without taking my eyes from the screen. She came running.

No, I did not loose anyone that day, but I recognised the impact, the senseless loss of lives and that day will forever be burned into my memory.

Although, aside from the whole terrorist thing. It was the best day ever. No homework, no class, we all just gathered and watched the news. Then I went home and played some Phantasy Star Online on the Dreamcast.

It was awesome.

And, I pretty much agree with Spoon. Sure it was a tragedy. But it happened 6 years ago. Let the past be the past, and lets keep focusing on the future.

Excuse my language, but f*%& you! You know what people died that day, there's nothing awesome about that day. One of my friends had family that died in that attack. People get this mindset that "oh, this was 6 years ago big deal", but really it still has an impact on our lives today. Military Alert is still elevated, and the threat is still out there. Fortunately the enemy hasn't been able to attack again, but doesn't mean they won't attempt to try again, so really keep it that memory with you.

dont mean to turn this into a debate but, do you kno who even did the plane crash? your government, thats right, no ive seen the 911 south park episode, it was funny, but the government actually did 911 i suggest the film "loose change" for further info, douche

Dude do you actually think that the U.S. government is COMPETENT enough to pull off suce a plan and really keep it a secret this long. They cant keep anything secret...not even a BJ in the ovel office stays a secret.I've seen loose change [both versions] and most of their theroys have been debunked. And know their working on the 3rd version of loose change becuse most of their theroys are now in question.
I'm not sayin that there wasnt a cover up but its not the one you think.

I know this sounds weird, but it feels nice when foreigners say they were saddened. It kind of made America NOT look so bad in everyone's eyes around the world....when you Brits were attacked back in July 2005, it was a huge story here as well, and I kept myself glued to the tv in horror over it.

For the record it is one of the poorest analogies I have ever seen. And I am telling you if you have a problem with peop;e remmebering, leave this thread alone, got it? No one is forcing to post in it and you have no right to criticize people for their grief.

I was getting my daughter ready for her doctor's appointment. My husband had just left for bootcamp a few weeks before. I turned on the news and was confused as to why they were showing New York. Then the second plane hit.

I was going to the doctor's when I heard about the Pentagon. I was so afraid for my husband as the Great Lakes traning center is the only one for the US Navy.

I will never forget that day. I was horrified and so frightened. I remember crying for all those people; seeing them jump. Remembering it stil makes me cry.

I don't know why people are getting so upset at others. It was a tragedy, yes, but people die every single day. Innocent people, just like the ones who died on 9/11. Why are those people so special? In my opinion, any person who loses their life is just as important as any other and they all deserve to be remembered. The people on 9/11 were killed by cowards. So are plenty of other random people in this world. The only difference is, you don't have 6 years of coverage to remind you of what happened to someone who was killed at random and left behind small kids who end up in foster homes.

Maybe those people here getting all upset should actually read what people are trying to say.

People die everday - yes. That's true. Many for preventable accidents and various situations. But to say that someone shouldn't remember a time of tragety because there are other trageties in the world is a rather weak arguement. This isn't memory triage here...

Sorry you can't mourn the 9/11 victims anymore. This seasons mourning will be directed at the earthquake victims, the chinese miners, and the various other catastrophies that have happened in the last six years. 9/11 was soooo six years ago!

Give me a break. 8-|

Remembering 9/11 isn't like wearing white after labor day where it goes out of style. Twenty years from now I can still remember and mourn. It's my right and the right of others.

I wasn't saying that people can't remember what happened. I never said anything about people "not being able to mourn the 9/11 victims anymore", I just don't think they are more important than anyone else who dies. The only reason it seems like they are is because what happened was such a huge, terrible thing, as opposed to someone getting cut up in their house and thrown in a garbage, which is something you read in small print on a page in the paper somewhere in the middle or the back. They always put it out there that "let's remember the victims of 9/11", which is fine, but people act as if the only important lives in this world are the ones who get mentioned year after year in the news.

That's my opinion.

Their deaths are not more important; it is because of what happened when they died that is what makes the event so significant. A person caught in a drive-by, that is a terrible tragedy. But it didn't change the course of the nation's HISTORY. To that person's family, that could be the most significant event of their lives. But 9/11 changed this entire country. It eventually led to war (let's not get really into that, but yes, the war wouldn't have happened had 9/11 not).

No one is saying that their more important then any other tragedy related death...or any other death for that mater.I'm one of those people that beleave a problem that effects you might not effect me but that doesnt mean that the problem isint imporntent!!!!!!!!!
What gets me is that if you and others are done morning for those that died on 9/11.........FINE!!!But why do you insist on pushing your views on those of us that are not done morning......that have a more personel stake in what happened on 9/11...those of us that lost a friend or a family member or survived the event.
Why even look this topic up in the first place????Its pretty clear to me from the topic header that this would be a tread about memorys of 9/11...........If your ready to move on then do so already......and leave us to morn in pease.
Or would you like it if when a member of your family dies that after a number of years we tell you to stop morning for your wife or mother or child or friend or dad....need I go on???????????

Thank you Wheeljack35 and DorkimusPrime for the birthday wishes it was a great one! My Father in law got me Ult BB.

I want to say one thing more, I was pretty selfish about the whole thing for a few years. This event made my 21st bday the worst day of my life and it continues to be a not so great day every year, for those of you who are 21 or are really looking forward to it. Imagine everyone who calls you saying...."HAPPY BIRTHDAY...sure sucks about what happened?"
Yes it sucks but on that day I didnt want to hear about. Even to this day every year noone forgets my bday, not because of how wonderful I am, but because its a day we remeber the awful things that happen.

As I got older and a bit wiser I became less selfish, I now spend that day remebering how lucky I am to be alive, not have lost any loved ones, and that my Bestfriend (was in the USAF on 9-11-01) did come home safe a year.

I dont care if you are an American, German, Englishman, or from any other place in the world. We need to all take a look at what happened that day, and realize what HATE can do to do.

God Bless America and any other country that stands against Terror and Hate!
