My sister was in Iraq. She got out a few years ago, thankfully.

We spent a lot of time wondering if she was coming back, or if a guy in his Class-As would tell us she wouldn't.

I was in 6th grade. Roumors started going around about it. I was in gym. It still saddens me. :(

Although, aside from the whole terrorist thing. It was the best day ever. No homework, no class, we all just gathered and watched the news. Then I went home and played some Phantasy Star Online on the Dreamcast.

It was awesome.

And, I pretty much agree with Spoon. Sure it was a tragedy. But it happened 6 years ago. Let the past be the past, and lets keep focusing on the future.

Same here, pretty much.

Yes, people died. Yes, it was sad. But if we put the past behind us, we can live much happier lives.

And Liege Evilmus, if they were cowardly, would they have done it?

You just said the wrong thing to the wrong person!

Yes, they where very cowardly! This nation has a well established government, and a ready military.

If ANY orginization has a grevence with this nation, there are more than plenty of outlets to aproach. And if a need for battle is what arises after those means are exhausted, you take it to those who are ready to fight!

This attack was a pig shitted cowardly attack on innocent people just trying to make a living.

It would be the same as me having a beef with you and smacking your infant as apose to confronting you!

My cousin Maria died that day, as well as my cousin Richard. As I've stated before, I also had friends and aquantences who perished that day.

With my own eyes I watched those towers fall!

Now MOTHER FUKER, you tell me why I should have to think of these people, who have never hurt anyone, dying in an elevator by being doused in burning jet fuel!?!

Bin Laden and his men are cowards! If they weren't they would have stepped to our fighting forces instead of attacking people just trying to earn a living!

Put you and your sister in that elevator and tell me if you still feel the same way!

My thoughts are, we do move on from a tragedy, but we should never, ever forget those that perish and should honor their memories. I've stood over the USS Arizona as a ten year old girl, and I looked into the faces of old Veterans remembering that day and the war, as well as old Japanese honoring theirs and most likely ours as well. They have not forgotten.

My first love died when I was 17, right before high school graduation. I went through the pain of burying him and trying to move on, and I eventually did. But I remember him every day and cherish the memories.

These people that died on 9/11 deserve our utmost respect, as well as their friends and families. They were innocents that were slaughtered, no less. We can debate the war, the terrorists' cowardice, and the current political implications, but those people are separate. Their memories are sacred.

Thank You Very Much MoonBase2!

I have seen alot of people young and old suffer and die for many sensless reasons.

For the same reasons we should stuggle towards all those many actions that took those individuals.

So should we take struggle against the one action that took so many.

Even if it's something as simple as keeping a heart felt memory alive.

Spoon. I envy the seeming lack of tragedy and consequence in your world. I hope this day never comes, but I pity the day that strikes you hard, as to everyone it will.

May your caroon girls cheer for you always, for I asure you, I never will.

Shadowman and Senor Hugo, share in that sentament. And if that day has arrived for you, I pity that you haven't learned the compassions such events teach.

If it hasn't, I hope when it does, your curageous hero's come out of their hiding to save you and have an outlet for you to plug your god dam game into inside there caves.

Dude its eazy and cowardly to attack someone who isnt expecting it from behind with a bat would you say??????

Wether or not our goverment might have had a hint that something like that could have happened it does not deter from the fact that it was a cowardly attack!!!!!!!
If they had attacked a milatery base in the same fasion then maybe it wouldnt have been the act of cowards.A milatery base is capable of defending them self's.

Again, Thank you, I find these statments appaling. If these people feel this way fine, but they should use a bit of decorum and keep it to themselves.

What they are doing is the equivilant of me killing there mothers then showing up to the burial to piss on the cofine as it gets lowered as I laugh.

These people probably don't have a personal stake in 9/11. If you don't, I guess you don't have a true understanding. Some people couldn't care less about the soldiers in Iraq, but I've had my husband there, so I care. And I have strong opinions about it. The reason I have strong opinions on 9/11 is because it directly affected my life---not in the sense that I lost someone on that day, but that it caused my husband to go to Iraq and nearly die several times.

The terrorists were cowards. Maybe they were "brave" in the sense that they were willing to die for their cause, but the fact that they suckerpunched our country and took out our people for their own selfish means is cowardly.

My 2 cents.

Iraq and 9/11 are two very differnt things. I'm not a supporter of this war, althought I see stopping things like "Rape Rooms" as a possitive.

I do support our troops in the fact that I want all my bretherin to return home safely.

The debate of this conflict is something to great to get into here, but I can say this...

If America wanted to, by dawn(eastern time) Iraq could be a burning piece of char in the dessert, we easily have that power.

What I can also say is, reguardless of right or wrong, this was no sneak attack.

Another thing is that MILITARY and GOVERMENT headquarters were and still are the focus targets here, NOT civilian workplaces.

When Sadam was captured, he was sentenced to trial, not killed on site.

Again, I think it's wrong to associate 9/11 with the current war. I only mention it to elaborate on the right and wrong way to go about solving a difference by means of force.

May our Troops once done settling the diffrences in Iraq, stop their policing activities and leave it up to the native of that land.

Come home safe.

May Iraq know the peace we feel here in America.

And may we one day all sleep better knowing that such terroristic actions are abandoned as in the end they are fruitless in conquiring the human spirits of freedom and comradery.

God Bless America, God Bless The World, Good Night.

Excuse my language, but f*%& you! You know what people died that day, there's nothing awesome about that day. One of my friends had family that died in that attack. People get this mindset that "oh, this was 6 years ago big deal", but really it still has an impact on our lives today. Military Alert is still elevated, and the threat is still out there. Fortunately the enemy hasn't been able to attack again, but doesn't mean they won't attempt to try again, so really keep it that memory with you.

dont mean to turn this into a debate but, do you kno who even did the plane crash? your government, thats right, no ive seen the 911 south park episode, it was funny, but the government actually did 911 i suggest the film "loose change" for further info, douche

Let's keep the debate and political stuff out of this thread or I will move it to the philosophers forum.

Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.

Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

I was in grade 11. I was in my geography class when it happened and we all went into another classroom to watch it on TV.

I was hearing the whole "it was six years ago" thing on the radio today.

And I can't help but wonder:

Why does that matter?

Obviously, some people are still very emotional about it. So let them grieve in their own way. If that means bringing it up in graphic detail every year for their entire lives, then let them.

People grieve in their own way. My Grampa died and I barely felt anything (even though I loved him a lot) and my sister (two years younger) was bawling in the shower. I could hear it over the shower noise and the door being closed.

Then our dog ran away due to my carelessness. Everyone was going on with their lives saying "oh well, he was a wonderful dog while he lasted" and I was running all over the neighborhood in a panic, and ultimately got home and cried like a baby as soon as I was alone. I was 18 years old in both cases.

Not exactly 9/11, but everybody grieves in their own way.

So to hell with all this "it was six years ago, get over it" crap.
Buy my RiD toys! They're awesome, I promise!!!!

Surely these 3000 americans mean a whole load more then all those thousands of chinese people that die in the mines every year. But those aren't getting a remorial every year that's on the news in the whole world.

I'm fine with people remembering their loss. I however completely hate how your grieve is apparantly so important that is has to be on the news throughout the whole world every year again and again.

My dead boyfriend got a little blurb in the newspaper, then the world went on and he was just another dead person. But for me, the grief lasted a lot longer.

But he wasn't killed by terrorists in a strike against the country. He was someone that was speeding on a windy road and got himself killed. His death doesn't hold the same significance as those killed on 9/11, not to the nation. His death had a huge impact on my life, but not the country's.
