Re: Soundtrack
I doubt they are going to go backwards and relive the innocent 80s era of music.
I was meaning to bring up the soundtrack thread; personally I quite liked the music picked for TF1, it suited the film. Doomsday Clock, Technical Difficulties, This Moment, Pretty Handsome Awkward and even What I've Done were all really good tracks. (granted others like the HIM song, I never listen to)
Doomsday Clock was a bit swamped with film FX to be heard, which was a shame but it worked well otherwise.
Pretty Handsome Awkward gave the Barricade/BB chase a real kick, and if only the sequence wasn't so despairingly short, it would have been one of the best chases ever.
Films like TFs needs these kinds of songs, rock songs, just to punch in at the right moments and give a fun, explosive feel to the film.
Of course the classical score was awesome, if they stick to that formula but tweak it to make it fresh, that's all good.
Just don't do what the Matrix sequels did, don't rush it out with a mangled score and forget that you need rock tracks to break it up!

Re: Soundtrack
Stan Bush needs to be in the sequal's soundtrack because its not fair he wasnt given a chance even though he did "Til All Our One" for TF1.
As for the soundtrack itself, it needs to be good with Metallica, Megadeth or perhaps Steve Vai to make the soundtrack something that dosnt suck. Also BlackLab did a theme song already which is a 100% better than Mutemath's.
No "What I've Done" because that song is overrated & dull.

- Weapon: Diffraction Sword
I'd like to see some tracks by more widely known bands. That might bring in some people to buy the soundtrack that otherwise would have passed. I think a Rob Zombie song would fit in nicely. I actually enjoyed the soundtrack from TF1, but I probably wouldn't have bought it if I wasn't a hardcore fan.

Re: Soundtrack
I agree Savage, and of course, who actually BUYS soundtracks anymore? lol
Stan Bush... I'm sorry, but as much as I am a fan of Transformers, his creation for TF1 was painfully bad, perhaps as bad as Mutemath's theme (which I cannot listen to and removed from my computer... thank god it wasn't in the film!)

Re: Soundtrack
Am I the only one that thinks that a movie about robots kicking the sh*t out each other deserves an all heavy metal soundtrack?

i think that would depend entirely on your definition of "heavy metal"
care to elaborate?

Re: Soundtrack
i like the soundtrack on the 2007 movie, the instrumental score is nicely balanced, good use of theme's, very bombastic at times....reminded me of the star-wars score, that's always a good thing.
When it comes to the soundtrack , good use of what the market had to offer i quess.... not compleetly my style of music but it worked, the handsome awkward chase scene is simply briliant.
I like the score for the animated movie to, in a typical 80's compleetly over the top sort of way....on a live movie in the 00's I wouldt use much of it.... except maybee a sample of 'the touch' under some optimus prime heroics, just to please us melancholic oldtimers
And instrument of destruction.....that just begs to be used under some screamer 'blowing **** up' scene
my perfect movie score for a live action TF movie? the samples mentioned above, same style of instrumental score they are using know, and a mix of contempary rock with metal and some classic rock/softrock.....i mean... 'thunderstruck' under some decepticon kicking ass scene

Re: Soundtrack
Personally, I would not necessarily be opposed to a little heavy metal, but not a total metal soundtrack...
Just a few bands I wouldn't mind hearing on the ROTF soundtrack...
Breaking Benjamin
The Used (again)
Disturbed
Three Days Grace
Shine Down
Godsmack
Avenged Sevenfold
Flyleaf
maybe even some Metallica, AC/DC, Pantera...just to kind of go back to the great stuff...
JMHO, of course
...thanks for the warning about the nuts...

I agree, some of the bands should of been a little more mainstream, just to ease us in a little
