I'm not sure what you mean by "Hasbro changes them".

Sorry, I'm still confused by what your saying.
The toy/ tech specs came first.
So if anything, it was the cartoon that made a change, not Hasbro.
And BTW, Skywarps G1 tech spec rankings was accidentally swapped with Starscreams.

As we may have noticed in the past, the Tech Specs of major characters have hardly ever been consistent, down to nonsensical (for instance, giving a melee-only warrior a Fireblast rating of 5), let alone back in the beginning some were downright swapped. What do you guys think the official ratings should be, given their overall characterisation?
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Thank you JelZe GoldRabbit, at least I now have an idea of what the goal of this thread is.
But truth be told, I would still stick to what the tech specs say.
True, there are some mistakes, but over all, the tech specs were far more consistent then any of the fictions.

Re: tech specs
The tech specs made the toys back in the day. They elevated them from just being generic shape changing robots.
It's such a shame that modern packaging blurb is often so lacking. They should just reuse the old G1 tech specs, word for word, with the occasional embellishment from the Dreamwave MTMTE books.
Tech Spec Prowl was not a prick nor Sunstreaker a wimp. I wish certain writers would read the tech specs.

To be honest with you, I think Screamer's specs are perfect.
If I had to change any Transformer's tech specs, it'd be the Combaticons. Oh, boy... I turn into the ultimate nitpicker when I see those specs.
I'm also not too fond of the Stunticons' specs. They're too...average. Apart from Motormaster -- and to a lesser degree, Dead End -- they don't have very many outstanding areas. Their courage is solid, but that's about it.
Grimlocks's are too high.

Cliffjumer's great, but I hate his specs. Apparently he's weak, dumb, and would succumb to a stiff breeze.
Megatron's tech specs could us--
I better stop now...

Re: tech specs
Scorponok's tech specs are so off as to be the stuff of legend. the Cybertronian guidebook provides the following information:
Originally he was released with the following:
Strength 3, Int 4, Speed 9, End 3, Rank 3, Crg 3, Frpw 4, Skl 4.
A later partially corrected version of EKG line changed them to 8,7,2,8,8,8,7,7 respectively. Plugging in Zarak reveals his Str as 10, Int 9 and Speed 4, a consistent difference of 2 points per stat from which it's easy to deduce the rest.
Starscream and Skywarp have long been rumoured to be switched. I prefer that Starscream gets the intelligence of 9 as it suits his character better.
Hot Rod's pre-Targetmaster tech specs would do his Prime persona proud if I remember them correctly.
I lie the fact that apart from Brawl, the other Combaticons are highly intelligent. Often Decepticon's are one dimensional, sadistic thugs of low intelligence. Gets boring very quickly.
I wish the writers would remember Blurr has an intelligence of 8.
The Decepticon Headmasters are interesting. Mindwipe is always portrayed as the scientist but he's actually the least intelligent of the three at 6 while Skullcruncher is and Weirdwolf is 10.
The fact that Repugnus has an intelligence of 9 only adds to his abbhorent personality.
Characters with high intelligences of 9 but that are rarely portrayed that way include Sandstorm, Hub Cap, Streetwise, Vortex, Groove, Snapdragon, Apeface, Wingspan and Grotusque.

One thing............
When has Hubcap ever really had any portrayal at all??
He never appeared in the G1 comics of Marvel or the G1 toon.
He was only seen in a crow shot in the Dreamwave comics.
And his few appearances in the IDW books dont reveal much about him and his intelligence at all.
