But you believe in transformers?
I don't think he was trying to accuse you of being 5 but mass shifting in transformers is a thing, even in the current comics. If I recall correctly, they even mention it in the dialogue.
I actually prefer the smaller scale for the limbs but not when it comes to TFC. They already established their combiner scale, they need to stick with it. Still kind of bugs me that Uranos is taller than Herc.

Yeah I got a bunch of them here in my office. I am aware its a thing in the fiction, Im just saying it doesn't influence my purchasing habits. If its so out of scale it annoys me I just display them elsewhere. If the figure is cool ill find a place for it.

Ah, that's easier to understand. I do that with my TFC combiners. They're on a shelf of their own.

For sure. Hotspot's robot mode & the combined mode will have to win me over on this set. I'm not quite on board yet.

Okay, my two cents? He doesn't look too bad. I don't care about the foot not going anyhwere in non-combined mode. Their Superion's hands/fists didn't IIRC. He'll go into combined mode within a day or two of me getting him anyway. And the Protectobots are probably the last-memorable of the G1 Autobot combiners anyway.

Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

I generally agree with this take. However, didn't Uranos have, like flight stands for the jets made out of the hands and/or feet? That was a clever use, in my opinion. Still, I like the engineering of some of the gestalts in hiding the hands and feet within the alt/robot modes of the individual bots. Sure, Herc's hands still looked like hands dragging behind the excavator and bulldozer, but it was a nice attempt.

Re: TFC Toys Prometheus (Not-Defensor / Protectobots)
Insanely high price & under sculpted poor homage sculpts is the reason I don't buy any TFC combiners.
I bought Giant and FP Menasor because I liked that they were almost half the price of the TFC Gestalts. High sculpt and most accurate homage sculpts played the biggest role in my decision to buy Giant and FP Menasor.

Actually, I'm pretty happy with the height of this guy.
He's about the size of a larger autobot car, so he will fit right in with them, and I'm guessing Hotspot will be a bit longer in the thigh to make up any minor height differences, so overall height should still size well with Herc & Uranos.
As for Gumball being "boring" have you not looked at Streetwise in a while? He's definitely a candidate for single dullest Transformer of all time ever.

I agree. I think TFC has resorted to "hey it's part of a combiner, buy it!" I don't think I like any part of his robot mode.
And that's a big problem for me. I don't like paying $100 for just a foot. Sure, I keep my combiners in gestalt mode most of the time. But every now and then I like to take them apart and have team poses. I loved Hercules, lost some of that interest while picking up Uranos, and have yet to purchase a single piece of Ares. The 3rd Party market has exponentially increased, and for one of the originals to half-ass it like this... I expect to pay half-ass prices. Which I'm pretty sure won't happen. So, I'll likely skip this project and play with my $15 Drift figure, and better gestalts.

I wouldn't buy this if Hasbro had it at retail price .

In my honest opinion, the reason Gumball is boring is because the Drift figure exists. If the Drift figure never existed, this design would be a lot more exciting. Some might have even bought it to use as Drift.

Agreed. Even were I into TFC's combiners, everything shown thus far on this one's a huge miss for me.

...
Groove has a character outside of "part of Defensor"?
I dunno why there's two prototypes. One matches the cartoon and toy ... I guess the other is TFC standard "different for the sake of different."

I see your point but even the dullest of tf's have things that set them apart. At the very least, TFC could have put his handlebars up by his head.

Maybe, but his chest has an indent in the middle and vents off to the side. And the head looks passable (a TFC rarity).
Gotta say, after they changed the alt. mode, there's not a whole lot they can do to change up the robot mode. And this is TFC we're talking about here. They make things different. It shouldn't be a surprise.
Apparently, there's another Defensor on the way (according to Preaugh at TFW anyway), so you have that to look forward to.

That is true. I'm looking at you TFC Headstrong.

I won't pass final judgement until we see the team together. If Hotspot looks good in robot mode, I'll get him for sure.
