The Dr Who (and spin-offs) Thread *potential spoilers*
Re: The Dr Who (and spin-offs) Thread *potential spoilers*
Poor Clara got demoted from Poodle to Canary to Bait.
The way the Doc keeps saying Clara's full name though makes me think - he has to say that - otherwise people might think one of her Hundreds - perhaps thousands other temporal duplicates would do.
Oh and here is a thought is the 21st Century one even the real Prime-Clara anyway - they try to imply the Victorian one is a duplicate but - remember this when she was putting her password in she muttered the "Run you clever boy" line something her other-selves say but who said it first does it makes sense that it was the 21st Century one.
The issue I have is that the Dalek one is way smarter than the 21st Century one with no explanation of why that is properly offered - they seems to gloss over her "Upgrade" the Great Intelligence gave her and she defaults to "Dense" and is only smart when the plot requires it.
-----
So on thought - The Master's Daughter - does he have an actual one (that they just made up or I forgot about) or does he mean the one he inherited by virtue of his body thievery ?
Oh and speaking of Forgotten Daughters... They seems super keen that the Doctor never finds his clone/Daughter again or her him. (Yes I know he somewhat resented her and thinks she's dead).
It does prove a point though a simple Clone of a Timelord also has regeneration and so does River who isn't even a Timelord in the regular sense anyway - So Has Davros never noticed that he can get what he needs with just a skin sample or some blood from a Timelord and some simple cloning ?
Simply grow clones shoot them then harvest the energy as they regenerate.

I did bring up the doctors daughter a page ago, and was thinking fun of everything to do with it and the coincidences about it.
As for the masters daughter well, that's what I was thinking in regards to little maisy. Funny though the few reviews I looked up make no mention of it.
At least we know what the episode titles referred to now

Literally one of the best things about the latest episode: sonic shades.

So this two-parter clearly drew cues from Genesis of the Daleks, and even some footage.
The ending was almost the same with Davros and the Daleks getting buried by the rebelling Sewer Daleks. Genesis ended the same way with Davros and the Daleks getting buried in the Kaled bunker.
I liked the scene with The Doctor and Davros, two men, both believing their doing good for their own races, warring across time and space destroying everything and everyone in their path, connecting at what was suppose to be the end.
Davros asking The Doctor why he ran away from Galifrey ... is that going to be the under-lying mystery of the season? Is that his confession? Gives more weight to Maisie Williams being Susan. (Although they're likely to throw it in that she's Missy's daughter which would be stupid)
Sonic shades? meh. As overused as the sonic screwdriver was, the whole sonic thing is now overused. That's why they stopped using it for so many years back in the classic series, and it's time it took a good long break now.

Susan being the Doctor's Grandaughter and The Masters Daughter isn't implausable so long as the Doctor's child bred with the Master.

I understood what you meant burn
I do have another stranger theory (or two) but I wonder if they are too weird for Moffat.
I would like to see many different reasons given as to why the doctor ran, that way it keeps the mystery alive.
One nagging thing though, Davros should know why they are loyal to him...These are the descendants of the imperial daleks he created to be totally obedient to him.

Did the 5th Doc have that Veg on his lapel as it would turn Purple if a poison he was vulnerable to was present ?
-----------
So the question is do the Docs shades have a heads up display and do they duplicate the functionality of 10's 3D glasses ?
Where they made of psychic cardboard or something for example ?
----------
I would hope Gallifrayan reproductive rituals are at least a little less complex than Cybertronian ones with luck.

Now for something completely different:
The trailer for next week was interesting but at the second time it gives off a waters of Mars vibe which is bad as it really didn't like that special at all.

Re: The Dr Who (and spin-offs) Thread *potential spoilers*
It reminded me of the Doctor Who Computer game.
------
I do wish Moffat wouldn't keep trolling the fandom though it's getting a bit obnoxious.
It's not cool to do stuff just because you know it will cause nerd rage - as it's just as easy for the viewer to think your an idiot as it is to think you are being a jerk for doing it on purpose.
Take the whole "Mercy" thing - that just seemed like either 1) He forgot he wrote an episode where a Dalek begged for Mercy from River before she shot it.
Or he did it on purpose just to wind some people up. (Yes I know the Doctor didn't know of the Dalek begging for Mercy) but it still sits a bit wrong with some as it happened and it's established a Dalek can say "Mercy" so if you have a good memory it's not such a surprise.
I wonder if he was trying to flesh out how a normal Dalek is different from the Cult of Skarro - and what made them special, or if he'd even forgotten that they could do things like discuss philosophy, have a rational conversation or say their own name.
------
Incidentally Loads of people have come to different conclusions as to Missy's fate at the end of the Witch's Familiar - I read her "Clever idea" as allowing herself to be shot to power her teleporter to escape.
But lots of people seem to think she's going to try to "sweet talk" the Daleks. (Unlikely to work).

I've not been able to watch it as I've been out, will have to sit down tomorrow night to get through it, as long as the missus is happy with that.
Nothing stopping you from starting the talk off though

It was **** awesome!
One of the best episodes of DW I've seen in a long time. Mystery, suspense, and a **** cliffhanger that will want you to throw something at the TV.

It's a two parter? Hmm I know there's a few two partners this season but I thought the next couple were single episodes.

The classic series was famous for doing that! usually ending in a cliffhanger....& continuing on in the following episode a week later

I wasn't expecting it either.

Yeah, because the episodes were only half the length of the modern series and often comprised four parts.
Which means the modern series, generally, wraps up their stories in half the time the classic series did.
But ... whatever.

I grew up on the classic series, so I'm well aware of that
(by the by, my favourite cliffhanger is a tie between the ending of part 1 of the tomb of the cyber men, and part 3 of Genesis of the Daleks. Of course I could be wrong with part numbers), my surprise came from the fact that all eps this season are two parters

If they're two-parters, I'm okay with that. It helps flesh out the stories more.
I just hope the second part of this one lives up to the first part.

Urgh. That. Can't they just revive the unit series from the mid nineties? Is thus really what they want to replace the Sarah Jane adventures?
Sigh, nevermind.
