The Dr Who (and spin-offs) Thread *potential spoilers*
That pic of Catherine Tate and the Doctor does look like Sarah Jane, I'm afraid. I only noticed it was otherwise when someone actually stated it.

Then please do me a favor, and never mention it again. I get very ill when thinking about that comparison.

Miss. Smith is far nicer, obviously. It's only at a glance. ^_~
Anyone worried that Eccleston wont appear in the next episode? It'd be excruciatingly disappointing if he wasn't, seeing as the first two episodes of his series reference him being on the Titanic.

What about Doctor #4? He made a glib comment about being there back in "Robot."

So on my quest for new Transformers today I headed in to Toys R Us to see what they had.
Which pretty much amounted to nothing new TF wise.
I did however discover the Doctor Who Series 2 figures from Character Options! They had all but the Grey Krillitane (this series has theGK, Werewolf, Cyberman, Clockwork Man and The Ood) and I picked up a Cyberman and an Ood.
I should get some money together and go back and clean out their stock of Ood so I have my own little army of Ood's.

The first Titanic reference involves a photo of Eccleston.

You mean the second reference? Being that Tom Baker's episode aired years before

I thought the Ninth Doctor didn't actually go on the Titanic. He just prevented that family from boarding...?

I know, but wasn't there a photo shown in that episode showing Nine in Eight's clothes that was from that time period?

So much for RTD's stance on no "Multi-Doctor" stories...
Doctor Who legend Peter Davison is to step back into the Tardis – and come face to face with the current Doctor.
Peter, 56, who played the Timelord in the 1980s, will pull on his famous trenchcoat once again for a Children In Need special.
Bosses are tight-lipped about the storyline, written by Who scribe Stephen Moffat.
But an insider revealed: “The Doctor is forever travelling though time so there’s no reason why he couldn't catch up with a former incarnation.
“Peter was top of the writer’s list to make a comeback."
This year’s Children In Need charity telethon takes place on BBC1 on Friday, November 16.

And yet if rumours are true, he's planned a big 4 Doctor (McGann, Eccleston, Tennant and Tennant's replacement) for the end of S4.
Even though it's for comic relief, it's still written by Stephen Moffat. I just hope there'll be a torrent made available.

Yeah, but there's a couple of differences. Those were knowingly paradous. The last Doctor Who Children in Need sketch wasn't.
Second off, it doesn't matter whether or not it "counts". At the end of the day, it's a multi-Doctor story, something RTD said he would never do. Of course, he also said he wouldn't bring the Master back, and then he went and did it anyway...

Forgetting for a moment the reality of the situation and how much it conflicts with those "rumours" (RTD isn't exactly in favor of bringing back McGann, given the fact that he started the new series with the Ninth Doctor fully formed, Eccleston isn't likely to return given the drama that followed his departure, and we don't know for sure that Tennant is leaving this series), there's the simple fact that they're rumours, rumours which, BTW, happen to look like the most transparent fanboy scribblings that they might very well be.

Hence the "IF"
I don't buy into any of those rumours that came out the other week. It sounded more like a large dose of fan-wanking.

All I know is, I hope Tennant stays on for a fair few more series. I'm not believing any rumours until I see them in cold hard images on my tv screen.

Same here. Tennant is doing fantastic in the role. I wouldn't mind seeing him for another few years. Hell, he could catch up with Tom Baker's tenure as far as I'm concerned, so long as the story-writing is top-notch.

So Torchwood has begun in the States. Any first time watchers wanting to discuss it?

I've only seen the first episode here and I'm already liking it. I was really curious to find out what happneed to Capt Jack after Who's season 1 finale. The big thing that's going to cause major confusion for me is the fact that I'm in the middle of watching Who Season 3 on Scifi and BBC America just started season 2. Now I know there's going to be a crossover between the 2 shows and i don't want to spoil it by watching it on Scifi if it will be at least another year or 2 before I can watch the Torchwood episodes that go along with it.
Only 1 episode in and I'm liking it. Feels like just the right amount of Doctor Who without the Doctor himself.

The end of Torchwood's first season blends into the beginning of one of the later Doctor Who Series 3 episodes. You'll probably see the DW episode first, since you're already partway through Series 3. It's no big deal though, from what I've heard... I mean seeing the DW episode won't spoil Torchwood. Hell, I still haven't seen Torchwood. Only the first episode in ten-minute chunks on YouTube.
What channel / time / day does Torchwood air in the USA?

Don't worry about the cross over, it has nothing to do with Torchwood's episodes storylines. If you watch the last 3 eps at the end of doc who series 3 first, all it means is you will know the Torchwood cliffhanger resolved. But as you watched the first series of doc, you could easily guess it anyway. Although there is a slight continuity hiccup, so it doesn't really matter if you do watch Torchwood first.
There is one or two things that get mentioned in Torchwood pertaining to Jack that might cause you to ask what order of things are happening (as we were on this thread at the time it was shown) but they get explained in the series 3 doc who. It really doesn't matter which way around you watch them though as they are completely different storylines but as long as you remember Jack goes through Torchwood before doc who series 3, you'll be fine.
