Depends on the particular Mecha. Normally, between 7.5 and 8 inches (about the size of a Voyager class TF), however some are about 10 in or more. Like the Nu gundam is about 9, the Sazabi about 11, and the Perfect Zeong is about 15-16. 1/60 are about 12-15 in.

thanks for tht bit of info. i donno, i was just sitting around and all of a sudden gundam popped in my head and i was like... i wanna build a gundam model lol.

I wonder, have they ever made a toy out of Psycho Gundam or Destroy Gundam? Because those would be effin' HUGE in 1/60 scale.

Psycho is in 1/144, and stands at over 12 in. Destroy was made in 1/100, but far less impressive.

Well I myself assembled Raider gundam and i'm really suprised at how damn poseable high grade models are (comparing them with those non grade 8 euro kits is hardly fair :P ) not to mention dang good looking without the need for any paint.

Anyway now i'm thinking of painting (using those cheap ass figures as practice material). Do you have any advice/tips on do's and don't when it comes to gundam painting?

actually advice depends on how you want your style to be. I use the "no paint" method, which is really popular in Japan right now. It's getting a painted look, without painting. It deals with a lot of using clearcotes, rubbing/light sanding, and detailing with G-markers. However, the end results are very impressive. MG kits look great with no paint at all to be honest. Just panel lines, and you've got a great model!

Wow didn't realize there was a Mecha section on Seibertron.

Yes the Psycho is fairly huge, I havn't gotten around to building it, but it looks fairly simple in construction.

Agreed. As a casual modeller who sucks at painting in general, I've found Bandai's continuing effort toward accurate molding to be a godsend.

Now me, I'm not into a huge ammount of fuss when it comes to assembly. I think the most complex kit I own currently is a MG God Gundam, which I'm pretty sure isn't much compared some of the newer UC kits (and nothing to a PG, which I doubt I could even justify the expenditure on...). Of course, often I just stick to things like MSIA's and their ilk, as they hold up a helluva' lot better in actual play (though I've yet to personally demolish a kit so far).

Though I HAVE been eyeing the new MG Zaku kits a bit, perhaps for some time down the road...

I've got the Zaku 2.0, nice looking kit. MG kits have gotten really good lately, If you don't a complex kit stay away from the Zeta's. If you want a great kit that's easy, has great play and looks sweet get the MG F91.

Here it is! MG Gundam Zeta plus C1! This is my FAVORITE zeta kit of all time. The articulation is insane, the transformation is smooth, the BFG he's got, and he just has that badass Stealth look:

Not to my knowledge. Your best bet is the HGUC version.

Which, while old, is a kick ass kit.

Also GodModule, go with the FB, gotta love those cylindrical verniers.

Actually, I found Hyaku Shiki, Zeta Gundam, and Gundam MKII, Advanced MSiA, all for about $45 on eBay. But since Shipping and Handling is $30, it comes to about $75 for all three.

Considering I nomally see Advanced MSiA running about $40 a suit, that's VERY good.

Unfortunately, Hyaku Shiki doesn't come with the Mega Bazooka Launcher, but Gundam MKII DOES comes with the Flying Armor.

:???:

I believe the term is "Extended".

"Advance" applies to the first run of the cosmic era suits.

Ah. I got confused, since "Extended" is a term used a lot in SEED.

Anybody know if the MG Strike Noir kit is any good.

I've been eyeing the thing for a while and once I get money I plan to get it.

I already like the HG version, I just want to know about the MG though.

Well when you live in Canada it's pretty hard to get Gundam Figures, let alone one's that aren't amazingly expensive unless you travel to Vancouver/Toronto. Since i only make trips there once a year, I don't really get much Gundam let alone Transformers.

So the latest that I have. Released in 2006 in Japan.. and took a year to get here to Canada. It's from Gundam Zeta or Gundam Z whatever it be called. It's the Palace Athene and i'll try to get some pics up soon.

He's awesome. Really. A little back heavy when not on the stand, but no more than the ailestriker. I bought mine and put all others on hold and built him ASAP. I even held up my Hi-Nu for him, who I swore I wouldn't build until I built the others in the closet first.

Doesn't the Strike Noir have sword-chucks??

Because that's bonus points.

No

But what it does have is is, two short AS swords, two rail cannons, wired metal thingies coming from it's back, arms, and legs, two beam rifles that were oringinally used by the Dual,

and to top it all off, two kick ass bitchin' beam pistols for dual wielding fun!

But yea, it does need sword chucks in there.

It's been a long time since I've seen CE 73 Stargazer. I keep getting confused!

But we DO need a Gundam with Sword Chucks.

And the Beam Pistols are all kinds of coolness. John Woo Gundam, launching!

Quoted for truth.
I built the 1/100th HG Deathscythe Hell then a MG Freedom Gundam (no transfers yet but will post pics), the difference in quality really pleased me for the difference in price. Plastic is better, parts fit better, poseability is better, detail...heck everything is better.
Pity there aren't more of them. I'd really like to see a MG Cgue.

Actually, the EW D-Hell is one of my favorite 1/100 HG kits. However, the Astrays and the Akatsuki blow it away. I really liked the Waltz kits actually, especially the Tallgeese with the option of building any one you wanted. The worst EW kit was Heavyarms, sadly. His arm just does NOT want to hold up the railgun.
