Unfortunately, it's almost vaporware. NCsoft Korea (Which, for you non-gamers, is the HQ of NCsoft) went under a huge staff change, and Exteel was put on the back burner.
But seriously, for those who played it, they have nothing but good things to say, myself included. Customizable, Gundam-styled mecha, tight gameplay, beautiful graphics.
And it's slogan: "Free To Download, Free To Play."
It can be free for two reasons:
1. In city maps (Such as Capital Colony) there are billboards everywhere. And these aren't fake billboards, these are ads for other games, mostly by other branches of NCsoft. (Like Lineage II)
2. There is a system called "Micro Payment." While the game IS free, higher-end weapons, mech parts, and even maps and game types require a small, one-time fee. This gives you "NC Coins" which can be used to get better stuff. However, this is not necessary to enjoy the game. There are still plenty maps, weapons, mech pieces (Which are mix-and-match, rather than single mechs), and fun gametypes availible from the start.
But the game is so very fun. This thread can be used for Exteel Members (Myself included) to post news and such for the Open Beta and the Release Timeframe.
