Are you pulling my circuitry?
The cons NEVER drove the autobots off Cybertron! Both factions mostly went into exile since the planet was unable to sustain life! Only a small number remained, but everyone else left BY THEMSELVES! NO ONE was DRIVEN OFF!
It's been through the Video-games, comics and even mentioned in the show!
Capitalizing only to put emphasis on the words. Don't get me wrong.
Technically, it's kinda tricky to really pin down what to describe the Great Exodus as. For most the war, the Cons were trying to conquer the planet by any means necessary, whether by killing off as many Autobots who opposed them or by simply forcing them into surrender. Plenty of times had Megatron demand that the Autobots leave the planet or be destroyed, and when the war ended, the planet was in so bad a shape that the Autobots could no longer afford to stay there. They were forced to evacuate due to their planet becoming inhospitable. But, by that point, Megatron seemed to no longer want them to leave the planet (for some reason), and tried to stop the Great Exodus. Then when the space bridge portal came into play, it became a race to see who could get to it first, with the Ark trying to both flee the planet and reach the portal first, with the Nemesis in hot pursuit. In a sense, the Autobots were indeed driven off planet because the warmongering actions of the Decepticons brought about unlivable conditions to the planet, and because the Cons essentially won the war and took control of 90+% of the planet, meaning any Autobots who didn't leave would die if they stayed, if not by the Decepticon's hands then by the harsh conditions of the planet.
I hope that made some sense, cuz I think I just gave myself a headache typing it out.
