I'm just hoping for Wedge and Biggs. At least small cameos.

In re-watching the movie, did anyone else notice what sounded like Obi-Wan shouting "Rey!" before she comes out of her vision?
And the Republic Commandos were in Rebels?! I need to stop being a fool and watch this dang show!!
Waiting to watch the Rogue One trailer this evening with my wife!
And I totally agree with Burn, I need a Vader-based movie, similar to the book Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader

It was a mix of Alex Guiness (a sample from A New Hope) and Ewan McGregor (who recorded his brief line)

He also said "These are your first steps." And it was Ewan McGreggor doing the voice.

It was only a brief appearance, and only Boss spoke, but it was very distinctively the Deltas. Another Commando shows up in a more involved role in a later episode, and when they show the inside of his helmet, it's an almost perfect recreation of Republic Commando's HUD.

I'm actually pretty excited for Rogue One. The Walkers are back!
And I resisted buying TFA this week, I'll wait the 6 years to get the trilogy set after Episode 9 is released. Honestly, I wasn't impressed with TFA, it doesn't warrant another viewing so soon.

False. You are not allowed your own opinion on this. Go buy it, right **** now!
And yes, seeing the walkers again was very awesome. As was the classic Star Destroyer.

Please don't, I enjoy these short responses. It really helps the discussion flow and I don't have to pay as much attention.

The last season of The Clone Wars was exclusive to Netflix for a time, is that still the case or can we get it on disc/digital as "The Lost Missions"?
I may reconnect to Netflix for that, and for the new Voltron series coming out in two months. If Peter Cullen does the intro again, that would be amazing.

Re: The Star Wars Thread

I needed a bit of a laugh. Especially at the bit about Rey and Anakin. I really hope Finn's character gets minimized, he's like Jar Jar. Totally unnecessary. As for Snoke and Kylo Ren, it's basically a rehash of Sidious and Anakin. This is making me look forward to the anthology movies even more. Rogue One looks like it'll be a lot of fun. And of course, the Han Solo film and the Boba Fett film should be fun. And I read today that Jack Reynor, of Age of Extinction statutory rape infamy, is among those considered to play the young Han Solo. Seriously. My choice, even if he is very popular right now, is Chris Pratt. He was born to play that role, even if it's similar to Star-Lord. Star-Lord = young Han.

IF they were to go with that (though it's more reincarnated chosen one than Anakin per-se) then I personally would be put off. Throw in all the other Empire parallels (Finn & Poe being captured and tortured to lure out Rey) then I really wouldn't be looking forward to Episode 9.
We don't need retelling/rehashes, we need new on-going stories.

Exactly. That's what I meant by my comparison of Snoke/Kylo to Sidious/Anakin. It's been done.Burn wrote:We don't need retelling/rehashes, we need new on-going stories.
