Tips and suggestions for how to win battles in Transformers Earth Wars

Even after 10 months of playing this game, I continue having regular difficulties with winning on offense. Hoping to get some suggestions and advice. I'm currently at level 48, with an HQ at level 13, and my team's total combined power is around 20,500 with 65 characters (2 of which are 4 star).

My strategy is to send in a group of 7 Autobots with 2 tanks, 2 jets, 2 gunners and 1 medic, all in a similar range of power (though my 4 star Optimus has gone through the roof recently and has been leveled up to around 900 whereas the rest of the characters I send with him are 3 stars around 450 to 650) My primary team is around 4300. I regularly lose with this team no matter what I do when I send them in zones that recommend 2800 to 4300 combined power. I seem to regularly win the 1350 to 2000 zones with no leader as long as I send in a team with combined power of 500 to 1000 more than recommended.

I have tried focusing on taking out the long distance weapons first (such as the mortars and beam lasers), then gave up on that approach after a while and started focusing on taking out the turrets to make way for the flyers, followed by the auto cannons. I always try to get the 3+ buildings when possible to add to my special powers, but it just seems like my team is overpowered no matter what when I get into that range, despite having a 900+ 4 star Optimus Prime.

Youtube videos don't seem to discuss the advanced tactics for later in the game, only about how to play early on. Hoping to get some suggestions for how to win on offense.

The recommended powers for each zone are screwy. There are times you'll randomly get a base that clearly surpasses your recommended power, and that happens fairly often. I got into the habit of attacking two zones below my recommended power, I no longer "punch above my weight" like you use to be able to do months ago.

Do you send in a team that is around the recommended amount? It seems like the only way I can win the 2800 zone is if I send in a team with combined power of 3800 or more.

What do you normally send in? Couple flyers, couple ground based dudes, and a couple of gunners? What do you normally try to target first? Who do you deploy first and why?

I try to go with a team that has about 1000 more than the recommended power.

I base it more on a mix of who's got the more power and who I want to power level.

What do you normally try to target first? Who do you deploy first and why?

For my A-team I use Razorclaw and target lasers, rocket launcher and mortars. Depending on which ones are closest. (The rocket launcher is my primary target).

The B-team uses Divebomb to do a similar run.

Both Divebomb and Razorclaw are hit hard, BUT ... they're essentially suicide runs as they don't have the HP like others.

What do you mean by HP?

Hit points. How much damage they can absorb.

Ah thanks. I had never paid much attention to their hit points before. I have a feeling that I need to increase the power of some of my team that has higher hit points. A lot of my top tier guys don't have a lot of hit points, which is probably a big part of the problem that I'm experiencing. A lot of them are around 1,500 instead of the guys who are 2,900+. 3 Star Ironhide (609), 3 Star Grimlock (714), and 4 Star Optimus Prime (917) are my main tank guys, but I have a 2 star Slag (289), 3 Star Pyra Magna (237), 3 Star Jumpstream (318) and 3 Star Blaster (306) that I need to get up to speed to help out my main guys and to play in the big leagues. Time to grind!

I'm lower level than you both, but I do find the recommended power level for battle zones to be a mixed affair. I have to usually go to the one before it to have any kind of traction and progress, but it is just poor in giving you a hefty amount of medals or rewards unfortunately if you do that. I think the only reason is because it becomes a matter of overkill and the recommended power is meant to provide some difficulty to keep play "interesting" and "engaging" for offense and defense reasons.

We were talking about this in chat last night.... (and I had no idea you were playing, I've contimplated snea king it the Seibertron Autobot alliance and taki-I mean helping out :-P )

I actually dropped a warrior from my line up to go with more DPS. And I absolutely can not go to the recommended zone, zone 10, even zone 9+ (3600 which is 9000 power below my team's power) was mostly a losing situation for me. Dizz said he was having the same problem.

Bit doing more damage seems to fix the problem. Now I rarely lose in zone 9.
