Are there any paint application differences between the Hasbro and Takara versions of Kup?

Is the shiny silver paint used on Kup's face the same paint used on RTS Perceptor?

I'm starting to really get into that Kup. My only beef with the figure was the gun. I really wanted something to mimic his old style rifle or "musket" with the clip that sticks out just past the trigger.
I have a slightly outrageous idea and question for you all. We all wanted Scourge to come with Fracus and I know there are enough people out there that would have had Kup come with his Targetmaster partner instead of his currant shotty. What if Hasbro or Takara re-release these bad boys with new Targetmasters? No new paint apps, no new remould, just new Targetmasters. What do you think the chances of them doing a throwback to those figures by offering them first w/o Targetmaster THEN again later (when we've all bought them) w/ Targetmasters. Would you buy them?
Last thing... anyone else think his alt mode looks like the pick up in the Shinra Building from Final Fantasy 7? I know I do.

I never cared for the character, but this toy looks really cool. I prefer it to the G1 rendition.

Vaguely... you mean the one they drive? Not too much, it was one of those little japanese three-wheeler dealies.
As for your targetmaster question... I would be mad. I might buy them if they looked really cool, but I wouldn't be happy about it.

Why did ya have to go and say that now!?
Now i'm considering this notion and wondering if i should buy them now when they come out.....
alright...i've thought about it. Yes . I'll buy both. Unfortunately. Being that you have to buy this figure now because there is no evidence of a targetmaster release in the future.
If you miss out on it at retail then your sorta screwed but not really. Just gotta pay a couple bucks more than you want buying from ebay or an online retailer.

I see what you're saying with the truck mode. It actually does remind me of it

Strangely enough, the new Generations Wreck-Gar figure reminds me of Jecht from Final Fantasy X for some reason.
As far as Targetmasters go, I'd consider it only if there were new paint apps applied to each figure. To be honest, I'm not into Targetmasters nor do I feel the desire for these two figures to have them as much as everybody else. It just doesn't do much for me. I guess I was never a fan of Targetmasters or Headmasters. I always thought it was an awkward concept. Anyway, I'm just happy that they are finally releasing Kup and Scourge as Generations/RTS at all.
On a side note, I do remember way back when Cyclonus was revealed. A select few members said they were willing to purchase him soley for Nightstick while later ridding themselves of the Cyclonus figure. Didn't know minibots had that effect

They really teased us with the Nightstick with Cyclonus. Now we want everyone that was a Targetmaster to have a Targetmaster. No one likes to be teased.

I've never used this phrase before ever, but this is just a tad too 'movie-verse' aesthetic for me. Don't get me wrong, Kup's old and he's got the vintage fee. But does a old bot like him have to have so many intricate parts? Perhaps it's just the design. Thoughts?

I think this will make a good redeco for Gears.
What? Not where you were going with that?

I don't really see the detail on Kup that the movie toys usually have, except in the face. On that I'd have to say it's part of his charm. He looks worn, but his body says he still packs a good punch.

I did notice his face looks a little strange, but I think it fits the grizzled old soldier look. I like it. Not really seeing much movie influence myself.

Wow, this is much better looking than that unpainted, (and rather bad looking) detail voided, prototype we previously saw.

I doubt Hasbro gives us another Springer since they have already given us two, even know they both were repaints. But, I would love for them to tackle a voyager generations/RTS Roadbuster. To take the place of their first attempt of course.
