Titan class Raiden, please. Devastator needs his rival.

Screw doing a new character, This is Combiner Wars, give me an updated Raiden.![]()
Raiden would be nuts, I'd be all over that, unless it's one train mold used six times or something like that. I was going to say liokaiser also, but I think I'd rather just see that as an encore, if they would please resurrect that line; those molds are awesome
An updated new mold Lio Kaiser would make me the happiest guy in the world.

Takara maybe... Hasbro wouldn't have the balls to release a Japan only character in Titan price point.
That said they could redesign a Raiden made from a NYC subway car, a BART car, a Vancouver Skytrain, the Seattle Monorail, a Chicago L car and an LA Metro Rail and I'd be all over it.

That would be so sweet. Unfortunately it would hit retail looking like the Galaxy Express 999 and five vaguely marshmallow shaped rectangles

and thats honestly why i thought hasbro wouldnt give us a proper slingshot. they made him look similar to SS that i assumed we'd have to rely on 3P's to make us one. they could just toss AB's head on the planned SS repaint and call it a done deal.Cobotron wrote:um...guys...Alpha Bravo already.... uhhh.... has Slingshot's...head.

Slingshot is dead and Wildrider doesn't exist in IDW, so that point is irrelevant.
every iteration of transformers has G1 influence. some of them (like the classics/generations lines) are HEAVILY based on G1. how you can look at CW/classics/generations and claim theyre not a redux of sorts is beyond me.
we all get it. the G1 line i long finished.
but G1 is still very much alive.
Name ONE Generations figure since FOC ended, besides Arcee, that looks just like its geewun counterpart? Your ideology is akin to saying that ROTF Hoist is geewun. Just because it shares the name and coloring does not mean it is the same. Is Rescue Bot Hoist Geewun Hoist?? NO.
So, if you have an example, bring it. Yes, the "spirit" of G1 is alive. Of course, because if not, then Transformers itself would be long dead and buried. These are new incarnations of them. But, they are not the same entities that existed in G1. If so, Jhaxis would not be present, nor would Ratbat, Waspinator, Rhinox, or even the new Starscream, which is EXCELLENT example of the spirit of this new line.
Springer.
Gen. Hoist and Trailthingy. Granted, Hoist needs his accesory, but it is a near ideal revisit to G1 Hoist and Trail has his lightbar thingy.
And technically, thanks to TFWiki and the Angry Birds comic, RB Heatwave is now g1

He means which Generations figures besides Arcee look exactly like their 1980s character model designs, which is the criteria he stands by.Flashwave wrote:shockblast2 wrote:shajaki wrote:have i been harping that G1 is alive and well? i sure dont recall. maybe the last time said anything on the subject was in regards to your completely made up G3 notion. i might add theres many more supporters on my side BTW.shockblast2 wrote:You harping that a dead line is still alive and well AND trying to claim that every Generations release is some sort of classics redux is getting old. If that's the case, his premise is flawed (big surprise). There was little consistency between the G1 toys, the cartoon character models, and the Marvel comic character novels, to say nothing of other ancillary media. Heck, some of the characters didn't even have the same character model from one episode to the next of the original cartoon. It goes beyond aesthetics, too. Several characters had very different characterizations between the package bios, the cartoon, and the comics. If what shockblast2 demands is perfect "G1" fidelity, he'll have to name what his gold standard is and justify why the others of that same era apparently don't count.

Re: Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Discussion Thread
So, there was a lot of arguing there about whether figures generally released in Takara's market ever show up as store exclusives in the US, and people saying they felt like they should remember an example, and maybe I'm missing something, but why didn't anyone mention the GDO (Global Development Organization) stuff? Does it not count because they were products released in Asia by Hasbro, rather than Takara?

No they dont. I thought of those. But they dont count exactly for the reason you point out. The whole debate was about Takara released products and GDO simply arent Taara releases. Takara isnt even part of the equation in that one. Masterpiece is the more apt example.
But it doesnt matter because we are getting those 2 toys. That right there shows that the molds were done already, Takara is simply showing them to us first. And there is no need for a specific precedent for something to be true. Takara always had the chrome but suddenly it was the Hasbro jetfire release that had it. During the prime line it was Takara who had the stickers but then the generations figures which came with stickers were hasbro not takara. Things dont need to have a precedent inorder to be true.

The premise is way more than flawed, it's indefensible. How would ANY current character exist if not based on it's G1 incarnation. If I take Omega Supreme, give him slightly more angular looks but still call him Omega Supreme and have him act similar to his G1 self, that's not a new character- it's an extension of G1

Thats how I feel most of the current IDW comics are along with most of the CHUG releases.

It'll fit into the peg hole fine the problem is that depending on tolerances the limbs may not be able to hold it up in arm mode. None of the ones I have can hold the combined weapon mode at all.

This is a 12% price increase ALONE just in a year, 20% for voyagers!!!
At this rate, by 2018 people will be paying $21.99 for a DELUXE.
i doubt itll take that long, by this time next year they'll probably be up to $20 for a deluxe. By 2018 i say $30 for a deluxe if the franchise is even still around. Theres a target in my area thats been selling deluxes for $18 since AoE started & a TRU thats been doing it for longer, they had $25 voyagers back in the RTS days. Also look forward to the sizes getting even smaller, transformations getting even more simpler & accessories & paint going bye bye.
But on topic now im actually surprised to see this, ill be even more surprised if they are the takara molds & not just straight up repaints of firefly & breakdown. Now the real question is will the be mass release or exclusives?
