TRU: Transformers #2 coolest toy of all time?
According to today's Metro (a free newspaper distributed to commuters, for non-UK types), Transformers were recently voted as the second coolest toy of all time in a Toys 'R' Us poll. BMX bikes took the top spot, followed by TF, Rubik's Cube, Action Man and Lego.

No G.I. Joe? I loved Joe when I was growing up, even more so than Transformers. But I must admit that Transformers have obviously appealed to me longer than G.I. Joe, mostly cause they are so fun to fiddle with.

GI Joe (or Action Force) was never as popular in the UK as it was in the US. I assume this is a TRU UK poll, seeing it has appeared in a UK paper, which would explain GI Joe not getting a mention and Action Man being so high up the list.

Ah, didn't pay attention to the little detail that it was in the UK. Guess that's what I get for not reading too closely. Stands to reason Transformers rate so high as well, cause I've read that it was marketed really high there, and that it was the best selling "toy comic" for a long time.

We get the metro here in New York too, but I doubt they'll mention it.
Either way that's very cool.
