Two IDW related TF questions

Postby typh0id » Tue Jan 27, 2009 11:07 pm

1) I know that the second volume of Dreamwave's G.I.Joe / Transformers was canned when the company went bankrupt and will likely never be finished (like War Within Vol. 3) but since IDW has been re-releasing several Dreamwave publications I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about IDW reprinting the first Dreamwave GIJ / TF crossover...I'd love a TPB of that one...

2) Amazon has an ISBN and release date of Feb. 28 for the Revelations TPB...I work at Barnes and Noble and when I ran the ISBN through my system (searching the title came up with no results) it simply listed it as having a publish date of Feb. 2008 and no option to preorder...Now obviously the information in B&N's system is incorrect but it's very unusual for there not to be a preorder option for something supposedly coming so soon...What I'd like to know is, does anyone know for sure that Revelations is coming out in February?

I'm not too sure. One would think that, given how long they've had the license, and considering that they've reprinted nearly all the DW stuff that they can already, one would think that's coming in the near future.

So did Revelations come out on the 4th? I haven't actually looked for it in a comicbook store but I know Barnes&Noble doesn't have it yet and Amazon still has it listed as a preorder...

I thought Black Horizon officially ended that GI Joe/Transformers continuity.

revelation was out on the 4th, it was in my local (and only) comic store on Friday.

if it's made it halfway round the world, it should be ready to ship by amazon...

That's the Devil's Due line, which was printed as an omnibus, but the Dreamwave gi JOe/ TF crossover was that alternate WWII story.

And it was a damn-good one too...Though as I understand it the "sequal" that never made it past the first issue was set in a more modern or even future time..

With IDW now owning both titles - and that idea in mind I'd love to see another alternate history thing like that. Imagine if Hearts of Steel had been a G.I.Joe TF crossover. Imagine the future possiblilities for crossovers in alternate historical or speculative futureworld settings.

Hell, I'd soil myself if we got just a plain old modern day no frills GIJoe TF crossover anytime from IDW.

Yeah that would be awesome, I finally got a few more crossovers off ebay because I wanted to complete the storyline for DW as far as it would go. DD was pretty awesome too, haven't had one in a bit. If they decided to do one now I'd be looking forward to it.
