Re: Unofficial Transformers 3rd Party and Knock Offs Toys Appreciation Thread
Yeah, I hear ya. Pretty disturbed about it myself... So 3rds aren't trademarked 'Transformers' hascrap. Doesn't make them any less transformable figures inspired by characters we've all loved and enjoyed growing up as kids.
I'm sure many here will play the 'beating a dead horse' card so I won't get too involved and rant my head off. I will say this though.... this is the only Transformers site that I've been visiting recently that is trying to sweep 3rds under the rug like it's a dirty little secret.
And for the record... Kreo aren't transformers... they're legos...

We are moving on here, and we would appreciate it many of you would as well. Thank you.
This topic doesn't really need to exist. Show your love and appreciation of 3rd party and knock-off transformable toys and accessories by joining in on some of the over 1300 threads regarding our beloved 3Ps and KOs. This forum is for the most part strictly fans of 3rd party and KO products. Seibertron has made his stance on 3P/KO products and where they belong on his site well known, and while he doesn't come around these parts very often, we still have a good time and show our love of 3Ps all day every day in the various threads. He very easily could have simply banned any and all discussion of 3P products but because of the outcry and very lengthy debate from fans and even some Mods, he was kind enough to give us our own little playground.
Don't think of it as being swept under the rug, just think of it as how we do things around here on this site. To be specific, at one point in the epic debate, Seibertron stated that if you didn't like his policy on 3Ps on this site, that you could find a new home at a different fan site. I, like many others chose to stay and like the characters we love, adapted to our new surroundings.

Re: Unofficial Transformers 3rd Party and Knock Offs Toys Appreciation Thread
Yeah, it is what it is I guess. Can't say it isn't being swept under the carpet in my eyes though. These forums had their own link in the list til just recently and now its been shuffled into the 'Non-TF Toy Discussion'.
I won't relight the argument about it being allowed on the front page news or anything, but it does feel like 3rds are being stuffed further and further into a closet where new comers might not see it and old comers have to dig to find the forums again not that it's too hard to find, mind you.
Purely my opinion here, but I find it silly and almost childish that Kreo are considered more transformers than City Commander or Giant / Hercules. Doesn't make a lick of sense to me.
Anyway, I've said my peace. *leaves the thread*

Nice idea for a thread, OP! I do agree that we should stick to positive stories/pictures/videos of why 3rd party figures are awesome though, and not re-discuss a topic that's been done to death.

Re: Unofficial Transformers 3rd Party and Knock Offs Toys Appreciation Thread
There are so many awesome 3rd party toys. In fact it's easier to say which 3rd party toy I didn't appreciate!
My favorite still has to be City Commander. I suppose there's a great deal of nostalgia involved there. It does everything perfectly. It's basically something we (felt we) should have gotten with Classics Magnus, but never did. And it came as a breath of fresh air after so many years of white Primes being Magns' only form.
I generally dislike KOs that are meant to fool people into thinking they're the original toys, but there is one mold I felt KOs made the best of. The Classics Seeker mold. By no means perfect, and generally greatly overpriced for what it is, I still like having a small army of Seekers. Even more than Sweeps, they make great army builders. Maybe that's because you never feel like they're pure repeats, like the Sweeps, because any random color can be a legit part of a Seeker army.

Even if I'm against the toys themselves i love all the accessories/add ons for the existing toys. Dr wu being one of my favorites, also the armours for classics magnus and hot rod, and even though I didn't buy them, the iron army pcc limbs looked really good.

Re: Unofficial Transformers 3rd Party and Knock Offs Toys Appreciation Thread
I LOVE the FP Munitioner and Explorer add-ons. I didn't use the bots, just the parts along with their mold-mates Flameblast and Warcry, and after applying a bit of paint, I got one of my favorite custom combiners of all time. I still can't help but stare at it even though I've now had it completed for many moons.
I also agree with the above poster, Dr Wu's weapons are sweeeeeet. I have TF:Prime Prime's guns and they look great in my FE Prime's hands. Wheeljack's new head looks great as well (along with the tiny Autobot insignia decal they gave us with that set for his chest).
And of course, good ol' Herc. Every time I walk into my toy room, he's the first thing that jumps out at me from my shelves. He's standing there, imposing, towering above his fellow Decepticons, ready to crush some Autobots. He was costly, but I don't think I'll ever regret having him.
My DIA Commander armor is epic as well. I love that thing, and it looks superb with Henkei Prime. City Commander is good and I have him on my Classics Magnus, but I like the look of DIA Commander better.

Re: Unofficial Transformers 3rd Party and Knock Offs Toys Appreciation Thread
Unlicensed Transformers (or "Fan-made Transformers" as I like to call them) make up the majority of my current displayed collection as HasTak hasn't done anything that's interested me since the first couple waves of Classics... the following Universe & Generations figures seemed to lose the aesthetic that the first dozen or so had.
I own everything Fansproject has done with the exception of a couple higher-ticket items like Shadow Scyther and Snowman. Actually, come to think of it... I don't own any other fan-made items besides Fansproject. Will be adding some Maketoys soon though I hope... once TFSource gets their act together!
My favorite so far has got to be Steelcore... the playability of that guy is just insane... even though I wasn't a fan of the colors at first.

JRFitzpatrick7's sig contains one of the finest examples of 3rd-party enhancements - Bruticus. Full of win once Fansproject added Munitioner/Explorer to what was a poor combiner

Me too. Maybe one day they will revisit the other 3 members.
Another of my favourite 3rd party figures - Perfect Effect's Frenzy and Rumble (or Rumble and Frenzy, depending on which canon is more important to you)

I don't see Rumble in that picture at all. Rumble was purple (kidding, only kidding

3rd party products and high end KO's have dominated the Transformers collecting scene for years now. Hassbro just cant keep up with the G1 fans anymore. 3rd party products are the future of Transformer collecting. Hassbro can keep the kids and make all the Bumblebees they want. G1 lives through these fine companies that see no boundaries to bring us what we really want. I disapprove of this site hiding these awesome products in the back pages in attempt to strenghten Hassbro's corporate vision for the Transformers brand. The idea didnt seem to garnish much support from the other fansites. I dont need a fan website to see Hassbro's vision, since there are plenty of official Transformers websites to see just that. I come here to interact with fans who love what I love. Fans who want to see the characters they grew up with glorified, not stupified. And 3rd party companies do a hell of a job bringing G1 characters to life in ways Hassbro will never bring us. These products continue to be made because the fandom wants them. Hassbro has bet against the fandom. Should we let them win ??? I say f**k no !!! Stop by your favorite online dealer and purchase a 3rd party product today. Support 3rd parties. And support high end KO's because they are the checks and balances that keep 3rd parties (and Hassbro) from fully exploiting our addiction to this plastic crack.
