So last Friday we stopped at a Walgreens to pick up a few items, and I saw Cybertron Basics figures on a peg with a $3.99 sign under it. Now Walgreens usually overcharges for old basics, so I gladly picked up a figure and took it up to the checkout... where it wrung up for 8.99!
By Arizona state law, retailers are required to sell something at the marked price, and if it's been mis-marked, that's tough nuggies for them. I pointed this out an the cashier was a dick who refused to see it for me, so we called the manager in and I showed him the wrack where I got it, where ALL the basics were, and he said that that was the wrack for the Classics Legends and gave me this BS line that kids had moved them all there. I obviously wasn't going to win this, so I let them know I didn't believe that crap excuse for a second and left.
So yeah, I just wanna vent here and state the painfully obvious that Walgreens sucks.

It's not worth getting in an uproar over $4.00, however, in the future if something like this happens, go over the store manager's head. Make their life hell. Next time it could be something super important.

Actually you'd be surprised how little the B.B.B. matters. First off, they aren't a ruling/overseeing organization. Second, its something a business can choose to join, they pay a fee to get to put a sticker on the front of the business. And third, if a business isn't part of the the B.B.B., calling them doesn't effect them in any way.

I once was fairly certain my state, Connecticut, had the same type of law. After having worked in retail a few years back I found that it never existed. Check out your state government to see if your state really does, often its a myth-law. If its real, see if the toys are still up at that price. Go in defending your ground and have a copy of that law in print.

I don't think you have a case to argue. Doesn't matter what rack they are under if the peg was marked Transformers: Legends or has the SKU for the Legends toys. They don't have to honor the prices for something put in the wrong place, only if they are actually mislabeled. If some stock boy had put $3.99 price stickers on the Basics, THEN it would be something you could claim they have to honor.
Michigan has the same law, and I use it often, but I couldn't claim that a toy on the wrong peg has to be honored. I could easily put a new $20 movie on a shelf with the $2.99 movies, and claim I want that price if they had to honor where an item is placed.
Only the actual price tags and signs that describe the product matter. If the peg said "Transformers Legends 3.99" on it and you expect to pay that price for a Basic, you are a moron, not Walgreens.

ok in the uk if something is mispriced like that you have 2 options, the store can either sell it at the lower price or remove it from sale. 9 times out of ten we'd just sell it at the lower price, but if thers a major difference then its removed from sale.

Well at this point I was more upset about them feeding be some idiot BS excuse and expecting me to believe it then making a pricing error.
