Guess I'm out for a year until they release a proper earthrise Jazz. I can't stand beast wars. Keep me posted Seibertron.

I would bet money on a Tarantulas either as part of Kingdom or as an exclusive. He's one of the most popular Predacons but hasn't ever had a modern figure. I'm not very optimistic for Transmetal or non-show representation, but I'll be shocked if we don't have the full main cast released over the next couple years.

I wish people would stop asking for a Titan Grandus before Hasbro gets any crazy ideas. I don't know where people got the idea he's some sort of giant when he's a pretty average sized guy. He turns into a Micromaster base, not a normal base. He's smaller than a combiner, probably a little taller than Optimus Prime if not the same size. At best he might make a dense brick of a Commander class, but I think an "old Leader" would be enough, he's no Titan.
Jelze Bunnycat wrote:AcademyofDrX wrote:I also meant the timing of the production lifecycle, i.e. how much lead time is required in these steps to keep to a schedule. Since Unicron is a highly unusual piece, its schedule might not mirror that of standard product lines.
The standard cycle from development to release is roughly two years. A lot of it, mostly the first half to three-quarters I think, is spent on fine-tuning initial designs and testing of molds. You know, tweaking stuff to make it work better. Expedition (prioritizing a certain aspect of the cycle of any given figure above the others) is an option for emergencies, look up how Armada Hot Shot came to be (don't asking how his shoulders hurt).
We've also learned from Siege that they really do things up to the last minute, otherwise they couldn't have so quickly pivoted and finished out Siege with what would have been first wave Earthrise figures due to "high demand".

Not to mention the Autobots are already outnumbered when it comes to Titans, we need another Autobot Titan to even things up.

Do you think that applies to Primal and Megatron as well? They changed appearances in each season, as did a lot of other characters. I can understand the others not getting their Transmetal forms, but the leaders? I mean probably not season 3, because Megatron was a huge dragon and we already got Primal in PoTP, but I figured the season 2 versions can be included.AcademyofDrX wrote:I'm not very optimistic for Transmetal or non-show representation, but I'll be shocked if we don't have the full main cast released over the next couple years.

If you count TT Grand Max ( which I do) It's even at 4 and 4, so the next Titan could be either good or evil, I'd be satisfied as long as it's something new, and not a repeat of any of the previous 8.

Right now I think general consensus is on Metroplex 2.0, while not technically a repeat if it's an updated and accurate version, but I wouldn't mind an Armada Tidal Wave. I know a lot of people think he would be better as a commander class figure, but I think that would reduce his playability and interaction with deluxe and smaller class figures greatly.o.supreme wrote:Emerje wrote:Not to mention the Autobots are already outnumbered when it comes to Titans, we need another Autobot Titan to even things up.

That's not a bad point, but I'm not sure if Hasbro counts him. I wasn't even thinking of him and his box is about six feet to my right...

Last I heard it was, maybe I'm a bit behind on the information. I read quite frequently that people think John Warden wants to take his own shot at Metroplex, since the 1 we got was released before he took over. But that may be last week's speculation by now.Nemesis Primal wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:Right now I think general consensus is on Metroplex 2.0, while not technically a repeat if it's an updated and accurate version

They certainly could do Transmetal designs for the big two, I'm just less confident compared to the rest of the cast. Since I'm a G1-centric collector, I would really like to see more BW TM figures. Aesthetically, they're much closer to the G1 Predacons and 1987+ Decepticons than the base animal designs that launched the line.
I have a theory that Hasbro is shortening Earthrise, and mixing in ER-style '85 figures and part of the '86 animated cast because they're not confident that Kingdom would be successful with just beast types. If there's any truth to that, then they might be waiting to see how the BW characters sell before getting started on more. Put more simply, though I'm sure the main cast will get released relatively soon, I'm not sure there will be much Beast era representation in the line immediately following Kingdom.

Re: War for Cybertron Kingdom Discussion The Beasts Return!
Discussion threads with leakers seem to have locked in on an Ark Titan over a new Metroplex, but it's very hard to tell how much of that is speculation versus direct knowledge from a legitimate source. I'm not too worried either way, I'm convinced we'll see a new Metroplex sooner than later, though I tell myself that in part to keep from blowing $300 on the old one.

If it is indeed the Ark I wonder if it will be an already established character or an entirely new character that uses the name "Ark" much like how the United line had Axalon be named exactly that.
Speaking of such I have that figure and absolutely love it, I was able to nab it at Calgary Comic Con one year and it's just great, I personally interpret the Axalon figure as being an Autobot who left a big enough impact that he was remembered fondly enough for a ship to be named after him, I imagine other important Autobots like the Ark Crew had their names be used for Maximal ships in that era.

Oh another cool idea would be if the Ark Titan figure was actually Teletraan-1 as their own character!

If the leaker doesn't know what faction the titan is then it kind of goes against it being something recognisable (unless it's metroplex with stickers to convert to metrotian and can be either), pretty sure a titan Ark would be easily identifiable which faction it is for.

An Ark Titan would be cool, and would fit the leak about having a character that had no transformation in the original series (Teletran 1). There's just no justification I can see for making Tidalwave a Titan Class toy, it would be like making Broadside a Titan class toy.

I'm leaning towards an Ark theme myself now. Warden probably missed his chance to redo metroplex unless he did preliminary designs for the 2022 Titan before heading to pastures new

I'm somewhat more excited by these than I expected I would be.
I've pretty much skipped every other year starting with Combiner Wars, skipping the Titan masters, collecting some PotP's, etc. I thought Siege was interesting as far as Cybertron molds went, but not interesting enough to spend $$ on. I would have thought the Earthrise line would have been more appealing to me since I'm more G1 oriented, but everyone I've picked up I've been able to put back down (although I might grab OP if he shows up in a clearance bin.) Just not hitting me in the feels.
Really looking forward to seeing how the Beasts turn out, as well as the G1's that haven't already seen representation in this line.

I've seen a bit of speculation that if it is the Ark, and if Teletran 1 is the component, that they might rebrand it as Mainframe as he was an Action Master that I don't believe ever recieved a transforming toy, and his "Teletran 1" alt mode would be a computer or something.
Plus, I think it could be a cheeky little reference to the company that did the CG for Beast Wars

an Ark Titan would be cool, especially if they actually went Animated and designed the robot mode after Omega Supreme. Different name, but I would love what is essentially Animated Omega.
I still really want Titan Tidal Wave though, between the Armada game and IDW comics, he should be that size.

Just thought of something that's leading me towards believing it could be the Ark (whether it transformers or not I honestly don't care). If it's going to be the Ark then I want it done right, done in the style of all those giant Millennium Falcons, as a full on play set with lots of stuff inside. But for that to make sense we'd need some properly sized G1 figures to go inside. You know, like Core class. We're already getting new small figures of Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Starscream that would be perfect inside an Ark. I can only imagine that's the reason why they've suddenly decided to start doing small first season characters again, just like how they were doing Legends figures to go with Metroplex and Combiners before.
BTW, Warden probably did design the 2022 Titan. If you work from a 2 year lead time then there isn't enough time for whoever Warden's replacement ends up being to work on, it should already be underway. Remember, these guys usually get previewed in October (in a normal year anyway) meaning we'll have our first look at the 2022 Titan by October 2021.
