What has been the best TF show?
I admit I only saw the G1 episodes. What were the others like? Were they anything like G1? Were they better, worse or not really different from G1? Is it worth spending money on ebay to see them?

To really know, you'll have to watch some episodes from each of the series(Except for Beast Wars. Go buy it now!
).
Not everyone here is a diehard G1 fan. Some people prefer BW or Cybertron over it. Everyone's opinion is different. So, there is no "bestest, gr8est eva" series.
And even though I like Armada, I didn't like the other 2 series in the Unicron Trilogy (Energon and Cybertron, I think they were...).
Beast Machines is a funny series that fans either love or hate, there's hardly an inbetween.
So, you can't really go off what someone has said about a particular series until you've seen it. Unless there have been a lot of positive things said about it, of course.
Otherwise, it's all pretty opinionated, Transformers. Not everyone likes every series.
Geez, I babble on....

Armada.
Love it. I've seen most of all the Unicron Battles Trilogy, and Armada is the best.
I still want to see all the other series too, but I think Armada will always be my fave.

My heart says G1 but my head says Beast Wars. The fact is that Beast Wars is the best Written show in all of the TF shows.

I thought a lot of the american G1 was kinda funny.
Mainly the way new characters were introduced.
Megatron: Oh these constucticons that were introduced just five minutes ago sure are awesome, glad we made them.
Although yes I would have to say Beast wars was the best

I consider G1 and Beast Wars to be the golden gems of TF cartoons. I liked RID because it felt a lot like a saturday morning cartoon which reminded me of G1. The first episodes of Armada are pretty lame but the last 20 or somethin' episodes were great
Want List:Armada Skywarp, Cybertron Thunderblast, Energon Dreadwing or Mirage.

1)G1 and Beast Wars are equal
3) Armada is third on my list because it got me back into it and I liked it at the time!

G1 & BW are easily the best TF shows of all time, I'd say the UT but there dubs dont do them any justice what so ever.

Nobody seems to love Beast Machines
Fantastic show. Dark and gritty with probably the only cartoon Megatron who ever managed to live up to his reputation. The whole spiritual side to the show is probably the biggest love/hate factor for a lot of people, but since I grew up on Furman's Marvel stuff I tend to really like that element in my TF fiction. Plus the most banging theme music on just about any show (not any TF show or any cartoon, really any show) ever.

It seems everyone has it set the way I see it as well...In this order:
1) G1...because I am old and it was the beginning for me and my TF obsession!
2) Beast Wars....well written..Megatron was a HUGE tool in it...as it always should be!
3) Armada....first half blew, but Unicron Battles were well-done!

Beast Machines was alright, but it pales in comparison to Beast Wars!

G1, without a doubt. This is like asking Star Wars fans which is their favorite installment. Each has their own merit, but nothing compares to "A New Hope". The same for G1. There has been no better representation of either Optimus Prime or Megatron since.
I'm inclined to like the Headmasters series as a second, but I know that it is generally lumped into the G1 category.

I'd agree with that.
I also like, dare I say, Beast Machines. True, as a concept it was way out there, and I do find myself siding with Megs a lot in it, but hell, I love it. I really love it.
Well, who gives a damn about the Prophets of Tesco?

Beast Wars, the story and characters are vastly superior to any other show.
