Skorponok is only a passenger inside of Blackout's cargo hold. He is not a component of Blackout.

Hrmm, Maybe. Clarify this for me, does he disconnect from Blackouts back or his undercarriage? I can't remember.

Are we talking about movie or figure?

Movie: Difficult to tell, maybe his back, however this can be explained by looking at the figure.
Movie adaptation comic: He slithers out from under the 'tail' of the chopper. This is much like the figure has been mistransformed & the container left in the undercarriage.
Figure: Pavelow mode - undercarrage, however this part is rotated around in robot mode so Robot mode- back.

This is a great discussion...

After watching the movie I was a little annoyed that Scorponok never transformed into anything! (Sure, the toy version has a robot mode, and thats fine, but I think many of us would agree that his robot mode is a toy-based idea, and not how he was intended to transform in the movie...

If you didn't already, read that stuff on Ben Proctor's site... He talks about designing the scorpion, but doesn't even mention taking into account a transformation...
http://www.benprocter.com/SITEv2/HTML/PROJPAGE_Trans_08.html#

Then look at his photos linked here...
http://www.benprocter.com/SITEv2/Graphics_Content/ZOOMPIC_Trans_Scorponok_ColorTexRefCombo.jpg
Scorponok clearly has the the "002" marking above his leg, that was on the side of the helicopter.

This would imply:
A) Somehow Scorponok "magically" does transform into a portion of Blackout. Prowl_83's idea has merit.
B) Or when protoform Blackout first scanned a Pave-low some of the detailing he absorbed effected his "pet"

Before looking at those photos, I would have gone along with the idea that Scorponok transformed into some kind of canister inside of Blackout, but those markings are from an aircraft, not a box of any kind.

The real answer is... there is no answer. His transformation was not shown in the movie because they NEVER DESIGNED one that works! Much like Frenzy, who "magically" transforms into a boombox, (yet has no boombox detailing when he's a robot.)

Good lord, I post a simple topic and now all this...WHAT HAVE I DONE? Can't we all just get along?! :)
Now, onto Blackout- how freaking dissapointing would it be if Skorponok transformed into a canister or some cargo? Lord, that's worse than a Mt. Dew machine...which was actually kinda cool. And Blackout did fly after ejecting Skorpy, he flew at the dam and at the city...didn't he? I don't think Skorponok is part of the engine assembly, I don't think those markings would necessarily go on an engine. And in the movie, Skorponok ejects from Blackout's back when he's in robot mode. To me, it seemed like the rotor assembly tilted back away from the body, and then the blur of Skorponok flew up and out, then burrowed in the ground. Having seen the movie twice I wish I felt stronger about what I think I saw, but everything moves so damned fast! Could have been Megatron's neck, maybe Bumblebee's elbow, whatever it was, something flew out of Blackout's back when he was in robot mode...pretty sure it was Skorpy. Love everyone's theories though, makes a fanboy's brain happy. Now, on with the flaming!

Just wrote Mr. Procter an e-mail asking him the question :) I'll re-post here when/if I get an answer.

He pops out from the cargo door inside his undercarriage which forms part of his back, near the tali rotor.

Skorponok doesn't transform into a cannister, container, or anything like that, He simply rode in the cargo hold as a passenger, and yes, they way you described Skorponok being deployed is how it happened. I've seen it twice as well, and the first time I saw it I was front row center, so I got a real close look at things. When Skorponok deployed, he did a backwards swan dive into the sand.

I am glad to see the namecalling has calmed down. No reason to call anyone names.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).
