A better question is: Why do cartoons hate having two parents?
Don't get me wrong, I'm the child of a single parent, but that's the exception to the rule.

if you'd use 'crisscross' as a basis, jack would've a hard time sneaking out/coming home late to help the autobots if he has two parents because june goes home late due to her job is the only reason jack had to go out and 'play'
