Whats that line of metal in their eyes?

In the picture, you can see the line of metal that goes across/in front of their eyes.

Is that like their eyelids or something?

i don't remember seeing it in the movies. But wouldn't that be a bother to have in front of your eyes? A blind spot. hehe

It's as close to facial expressions as robots are gonna get.

wait...could it be eyelids or eyeBROWS? :-?

Cuz now that you mentioned facial expressions, Night Raid, I'm starting to think they work as eyelids/eyebrows. Is that wierd? lol

They helped portray Prime's sadness when he was looking at the piece of the Allspark.

That scene...

bay wanted to show the bots expressions and feelings, so the artists and animators created "eyelids" and human looking eyes and pupils, also you could tell the bots emotions through their movements. they wanted you to see how the robots felt, theres more insight on this on an interview with one of the artists. the interview is somewhere around here, if yall are interested.
