28 years old here. I was but 4 years old when G1 came out, so I feel a bit young sometimes even though I'm right around the median age here. Most of my old memories of G1 are actually only a few years old from when I've re-watched it. My husband is just 5 years older than me but he remembers so much more. Some envy there on my end.

I don't know. I'm 30 and thinking of ending my collecting by the end of the year. I'm doing this because my G1 wish list is almost complete. I'm losing enthusiasm for Classics because of Quality Control issues and just bad designs. Don't give a crap about Animated or Movie toys (with a few exceptions) <- This is why Hasbro shouldn't pause Classics. I don't feel like waiting for them to start the collection up again. Of course there are some TFs I still want (some that exist, most don't) and if they become available I'll buy them.

This thread cracks me up. Since I am female and quit having birthdays and a friend of mine guessed my age at 32, I will have to go with that. :grin:

(32 is the ideal age for a woman)

I think 28 is the median age of collectors and the median age of comic book readers is even higher.

So I guess that makes you around... 37?
I never saw the point in lying and saying you're younger than you really are - cos then people might say "gosh, you like a lot older!". I'd rather say I'm older so people say "wow, you look great for your age!"

Now I feel decrepit! I would be insulted if someone said something like that to me.

I have no reason to hide my age, but it is not proper for a female to tell age after 30. Since I am married, age only matters to marketing folks.

I hope I never get too old. I was wondering this too the other day (will I still collect at 40?)

Transformers have a really big place in my heart, they are a big part of my connection to a really great childhood, great memories of old friends, and a great escape from reality for me. The sentimental stuff aside I genuinely enjoy them, I like big robots that beat each other up, and I find there is still more to explore. I finished off Masterforce just before Christmas and loved it. I'm working on Victory right now too.

There's a lot of aspects to the TF universe I fully intend to enjoy, and all the while indulging in an 11 year olds gleefulness.

I'll be 41 in a fortnight and don't plan stopping my TF collection anytime soon. I have only been collecting for a short while mind you, when G1 first came out in the UK I was too busy learning how to earn money and then drinking it! If you feel you're too old for toys, you probably are, I think I'm in my 5th or 6th childhood now!

Thankfully I don't look as old as I feel.
