Who still plays with transformers?
- Weapon: Dual Impact Maces
I mean play with them like kids do - not just transform them occasionally.
My transformers have a societies, governments, religions, economics and multidimensional character developments. I like to write stories for them and then play them out: do their voices, make them fight (strictly movie style stunt fighting though - i hate chipped paint), have wars, fall in love, etc. I started playing with them as an adult around the time that RID was ending and have essentially created my own continuum through playing with them that long.
I am 25 years old, I am married, and I have an overactive imagination.

I do, but I can get away with it. I like to continue and fill in on the different plotholes and series.

I'm 31, I have 2.5 toy rooms, and looking to buy a house so I can escalate this collection into a full scale detailed full toy floor!
I have an ongoing multi-level story in my collective, I have many bots boxed for prosperity, and many more displayed and rarely touched.
I do grab some at randome just to change, but to answer your question, YES, I do play with my collection.
What's the point of collecting toys otherwise? If your not gonna enjoy them to their fullest, you mine as well by paintings and crap like that...
To which, I'm also a freelance artist, so if your looking for some paintings and crap like that, ...

Yeah, I don't think I would collect them if I didn't enjoy playing with them so much.
It's interesting because I don't see anything on the forums about really playing.I mean there is fanfic, but that is usually just portrayed as writing. Or in the toy reviews, people don't use playability as a criterion very often. I'd like to see more playability scores in reviews.

Wow.
I haven't all out played with my TFs in years. Mind you, I was definitely not a child anymore long before I stopped playing with them.
My sister (23 months younger than me) and I used to have an ongoing continium of our own, featuring the exploits of the TransFormers and a race of intelligent feline aliens from a nearby planet. These aliens were portrayed by her "Kitty Surprise" kittens, as she loved them and had an extensive collection (fifty or so). Each one had a name and personality, as well as a position in their society. Anyway, it worked out great because I never liked humans involved in Cybertronian affairs, but other aliens are cool. We officially ended the game when I was 16 and she was 14. By that time the characters were BW TFs and the cats, because the G1 Autobots had followed Megatron to Earth. Three years later (in real time), give or take, they still had not returned. The Maximals assumed the worst, but couldn't spare long to grieve, because Cybertron was on its last leg (as usual), and there was nothing left to do to save it. At the end of the last game, the Maximals evactuated to the cat homeworld, but the Emperor of the Cats, Sam, who was prone to moments of megalomania and dictator-esque tendencies (as much as G1 Prime had tried to mentor Sam over the years), allowed a group of Predacons to evacuate there as well. Peace was declared, but there was a gleam in the eyes of Megatron and his new ally.
I've thought about pulling a few down and having a playfest, but I havent had much time lately (i used to do it for hours at a time). Hmmm, hold on a minute, I'm gonna have to end this post now. Classics Prime and Movie Voyager Megatron (metallic) are looking like they need a showdown.

I have mini TF wars from time to time. For some reason, me being a Decepticon guy, the Autobots always win....why??? I dunno, except that one time that Megs blasted Prime in the head & destroyed the Autobots & Maximals permanently. I love doing thses wars, they can be really fun. I mean, for Primus' sake, they are TOYS!!! They're meant to be played with. And yet I'm 17....whee!!

heh, cool. That's awesome you and your sister integrated a whole race of cat people. I've got a bunch of other action figures that make appearances too. For example, Xena Warrior Princess was queen of this one planet for a while. It was a simple tribal society who were rapidly technologized by this one really evil transformer - a spawn of unicron (long story). Eventually there was a civil war and long story short, now there is splinter colony of rogue cyborgs, the leader of which fell in love with a transformer.
And as for your battle, my money is on Classics Prime. I wish I had more time for play too.

Try as I might sometimes, I just can't usually "play" anymore, I usually can't come up with a reason for them to fight. Still, my imagination does get sparked once in a while, and here's a couple ideas straight from my head that were influenced by my figures:
This one was not played out physically, but after I got Cybertron Gorilla Primal and T-Rex Megs, my imagination sparked. There was just something about those figures that I loved, and still do. Anyway, I don't have every version of Beast Wars Megatron, but I do have his TM2 and TM1 form(and gator). With Primal, I only have his original gorilla and bat forms. So therefore, this is kind of an alternate Universe,
Well, the general idea was that the Maximals came up with a "Transmetal 2 virus", and shot it into Megatron. Megatron's own power became his weakness, and he began to devolve to his original form(which I don't have). Well, Unicron(who I guess is in the future, never thought about that before now) sent Universe Nemesis Prime down to Prehistoric Earth and powered up Megatron to his green T-Rex form(Cybertron). Megatron was given all of his old weapons and abilities, powered up to the nth degree, so was immediately at home in his new body. His power was supreme, and despite being smaller, he defeated Optimus Primal in a battle.
Primus saw that his age old enemy was up his old tricks again, and so he sends Universe Night Slash Cheetor(the leader of the Maximals in a post-Beast Machines timeline) to prehistoric Earth, and gives Primal his brown gorilla form(Cybertron). However, there is a twist. While Primal's own physical power has indeed increased, he doesn't have any melee weapons, or close range weapons like he's used to! So when Primal goes to battle, he leaves behind his surfboard bazooka cause he has not learned how to properly use it, and gets beaten again. Will Primal ever learn how to use his new powers? The world may never know....
Heh, that was a little longer than I planned, but hope someone enjoyed it.

Played with them last night. Lets see.. what was the battle?
Classics Megatron had captured Classics Ultra Magnus, Cliffjumper and Titanium Optimal Optimus after he had killed Cybertron Prime and stolen his creation matrix. His army consisting of Armada Demolisher, Cybertron Soundwave, Starscream, Nemesis Breaker and about 10 others. Somehow, Movie Arcee got captured too. Nt to mention that the movie Decepticons have broken free from Alt Soundwave's lab and are hunting for the "Real" Megatron.
So that leaves the Autobots to attempt to free Magnus while the Maximals are hunting down the Movie Cons.
This is all I can remember so far. lol.
I have no life.

Yep definitely. I play with them at least once a week. The story this week was the creation of a transdimensional space bridge powered irregularly irradiated dwarf star matter. Sourge, from RiD brought through all the tfs from the Armada universe in order to destroy Prime and bring back Megatron from the dead.

Space bridges are cool. In my universe, there is an intergalactic alliance to battle the Unicronians (Unicron has been corrupting the sparks of fallen transformers before the sparks can be reintegrated into Primus). So large battalions from each of the four major galactic powers have gathered on Cybertron, using it as a space bridge 'hub' - so that the reserves can quickly get to whatever planet on which the attack is occurring. Power and stability are always a problem for space bridges so whenever they fire one up, there are planetary power outages for a while. Overcrowding is causing riots. The religious zealots are causing problems too.
Some of the scientists have discovered a way to make space bridge based weaponry - imagine if you created thousands of very tiny disconnected space bridges in the same space as your enemy and then destabilized them. Ouch! It turns out very small space bridges are easy to create and maintain since space bridge power requirements increase exponentially with a linear increase in size. the small ones are not very good for travel but quite effective in turning your opponents into swiss cheese.

I guess I don't "play" with my TFs. However, as a kid (up til about 13, when it wasn't "cool" anymore) every single toy I had had a distinct personality, and even dealt with social issues, like disabilities (I had a horse that couldn't stand and was permanently disabled after several "surgeries" and prosthetic attempts) and all my cats and ponies had romances, careers, and a status in society. Had I had TFs back in the day, you bet they'd have been played with. Even my Hot Wheels all had personalities.

Giving them limitations and issues always makes for interesting characters. In my world, Thundercracker is an unprocessed energon addict. Bumblebee is an alcoholic (or the TF equivalent). Addiction is always fun.
I think you should break out your TFs and give playing a try.

Perhaps next BotCon, someone should get a group together in one of the hotels, a Bring Your Own Army RP/play session.

How cool you have wrestling teams of TF's. I'd proberly do something like that as well, but I need a toy wrestling ring.

I had a really weird moment last night actually, Id just put my daughter to bed and was walking past my computer room (Which has a shelf with all my TF's on it)
And I just looked at my Master piece prime in vehicle mode and Megatron manning the cannon you make from his extra accessory pack, Next thing you know Megatron was planning to use the gun to make the sun go nova (Why I dont know) prime saved the day and they worked through the fight from the top of the sherman dam complete with weapons!. This was completly unintentional it was just like an automatic response, embarrassing but fun tho.
Anyone else get similar stuff? Also im just so glad my fiance didn't catch me!
