I'm pretty sure you get to make the choice between which side to fight as fairly early on, that is, at the beginning.

So, who're you going to be first? Autobot or Decepticon?

I still haven't decided. Probably Autobots, save the fun of the Decepticons as a reward for restraining from blowing up buildings and squishing the humans :D

What about you guys?

Same here. I hope you can play as Ironhide. I just freaking love that design and it would be my pleasure to beat the **** out of hordes of Decepticons with him.

Yup. Wikipedia lists the playable characters as

Optimus Prime
Bumblebee
Jazz
Ironhide

Megatron
Starscream
Blackout
Barricade
Bonecrusher

And of course, we know Wreckage will be in it (playable? Not sure) and Swindle will be there too (as a drone you can kick about).

It would be magnificint if you had finishing moves. I'd love to knock down Swindle, pin him under my foot, then rip his head off....And then whip it at another drone.

But imagine some of Blackouts finishing moves? With those rotors he could slice bots up like nobody's business!

Your statment has piqued my interest. But I shall not get my hopes up. Especially not now when there is still close to a month before the game is out.

Well I think I will play the game with the Autobots first so I can get more fun to play after them with the Decepticons. 8)

Of course, you could do them simultaneously. Start the Autobot campaign, and when you get bored, unwind with the Decepticons missions, then when you've finished your break go back to trying to save the world again.

I'll probably do it that way, methinks.

Play as the Autobots for ten minutes, then Decepticons for ten...Lather, rinse, repeat, until beaten both way, basically.

I like to alternate.

What can I say? I like to play in short bursts.

A game has to be VERY good to keep me playing for that long. I think that once spent an hour playing Burnout Revenge when I first started playing, and even THAT turned into ten minute sessions.

Considering most missions in video games last about five minutes, plus there's whatever exploration I'd like to do, so, yeah, ten minutes a faction's pretty good.

if you say so lol. it all depends on how we all like to play. i get into the games easily so i dont wanan stop playing. if i really want, i could beat the game in a day easily, but thats no fun.

Depends, probably Autobots first off, with the codes for the G1 skins that come from target.

Hopefully they'll offer up downloadable content, get some more characters in the game, Dinobots perhaps, Devastator down the line.

Good chance it may happen, Activision is awesome like that.

I'll probably play as Decepticon first since I'll be seeing the movie before-hand and the movie is like the Autobot version.

I'll play the game as the Decepticons first, cause I want to be able to fly around as Blackout, Starscream and Megatron.
