X-Transbots MX-I Apollyon (MP Megatron)
Re: X-Transbots MX-I Apollyon (MP Megatron)
Agreed. From what I gathered, Transbots is putting the pieces on, which is good for us. If the retailer has to do it, then they will be opening the packaging and possibly GLUING them in, which would ruin the toy and my interest in owning it. Hopefully Keith is one of the good guys and he knew what he was talking about. If he says they are easily removable, then I am willing to give it a shot. I just gotta make sure I order it from a store that has a good return/exchange policy.

I wonder what stickers would look the best on this guy. ReproLabels? Hasbro Licensed? Clear or silver border?

Saw him on display at A3U the other day and i gotta say, wow , he's mighty impressive. Lots of diecast and beastly looking. With all the accessories and stuff you get with him he's DEFINITELY worth the price tag.
Seriously.....i'm gonna go as far and say that he's a must have. Of course that's just by looking at him in a glass case though.

Re: X-Transbots MX-I Apollyon (MP Megatron)
I am totally all over getting this guy...MP-05 is too tall for my collection and frankly still suffers from the same aesthetic issues as the G1 toy...his proportions are off --legs are too skinny and delicate looking for my taste. Don't get me wrong I think the Takara MP version is a great figure in its own right but not toon accurate which is what I am into.
Hegemon although he looks great is too small, and after looking at a few reviews there are some issues with him as well.
So this just comes down to Goldilocks situation; for what it is and what I am collecting it is just right: size, aesthetic, price.
I am sure this guy will have something that will be a gripe for anyone who is going to get him, but then again in all of the toys I have and reviews I have watched there are not many figures out there that have EVERYTHING that one would want in that particular iteration of the character; quality, aesthetic, transformation, parts forming and the holy grail of ANKLE TILTS!

I'm super interested to see reviews of the final product and learn if the quality of this thing holds up, or if the arm joints are strong enough to independently hold up his cannon.

Think there is a Gun bot Megatron in almost every toy class. 2.0 Legends class Megatron, 1984 Deluxe class. Voyager 1.0 Megatron. Hedgemon Voyager class Megatron. 3rd party boots applied Hedgemon Ultra Class. X-T Leader class Megatron. MP-05 supreme class Megatron.

Re: X-Transbots MX-I Apollyon (MP Megatron)
agreed but none of them really scale that well with MP-10. The x-transbot sample shots look to scale with MP-10 really well.
I would have totally gotten the MP-05 mold if this hadn't come out, but glad I didn't pull the trigger on that...pun intended.
Didn't know that Hegemon had 3rd party platform shoes out to give him a lift...

The platform shoes for Hegemon help him size up with Orion (ToyWorld's Optimus Prime). Otherwise Orion ends up a bit taller than Hegemon, which seems to be a big no-no in most people's perceptions. If anything, it feels like Megs should either be the same height or slightly higher than Optimus.

Just hoping TW ships out all those Devilstars to America in a few days. So the toys are traveling on the boats not getting delayed by Chinese new year.

Ditto, its amazing how much a little bulk can change a figure as the transformation appears near identical, great job X-Transbots!

Some stock will be released before the CNY but it will be very limited stock . It's full stock release date is march (not sure when in march) , it would have been sooner but due to the Chinese new year it has been put back .

I pretty sure this will be the case, I find that most 3rd party's these days have figured out that figures need to be functional, I've notices a huge step up in 3rd party figures recently, with less figures being super delicate display pieces.

Re: X-Transbots MX-I Apollyon (MP Megatron)
The only issue i can really see with this figure from what i observed actually seeing the figure is the gun barrel on his back. It is attached to a very delicate die cast swivel joint protruding from his back and it appeared to simply be not substantial enough to support the weight of the barrel making it leaning to one side.
It looked like over time and multiple transformations that tiny little joint could be torqued right out of alignment.
This little joint here....it had me worried. The lean was considerable on the figure i saw. But of course it wasn't a final production release but much like the one in this picture.
