Can someone please explain to me what's so darn special about this figure? They are literally all over Ebay? Is it because it's a female figure? I don't understand the hooplah. I guess it's because I only want G1 figs

I don't know all that much myself, but Arcee is one as you said, one of only a handful of fembots in the whole of TF mythology. There has never been a G1 based toy of her until TFA (earlier ones had bikes for alt modes, not Cybertronian/futuristic cars), and neither has there ever been a G1 toy of her in the first place.
I guess its a mixture of nostalgia and completionism that drives a TF fan to want to own a TFA Arcee.
Besides, she's a pretty cool and animation-accurate figure in and of herself.

People just want more TFA and she is among a few of the figures that had not been released. The is still more coming and some that have yet to be announced. Also it is the closest Arcee to the G1 character that was never made by Hasbro.

Wow I just checked Amazon and I found 75 listinigs for arcee..My local tru has had them on the shelves for months..No one here likes animated I guess..

She's still NO WHERE around here. I took a family trip to St. Louis a few weeks ago and I discovered 7 different TRU stores in 20 mile radius of my hotel (and 2 more en route). I was looking for one for me and one for a friend who requested for my help (I was definitely NOT going grab a bunch and ebay them off). Of all the TRU stores I went to I found TWO on one peg in at an EXTREMELY small (so small I almost didn't even see it) TRU in St. Louis. Hopefully I won't have to drive 6-7 hours to get Hot Rod.

I couldn't believe my TRU had them yesterday. But I'm not playing that game with Roddy. Even though it's more expensive, I'm just going to bite the bullet and get the Takara one. Way less painful than this whole Arcee mess

Seriously...my HA Skids is lonely. Sometimes I'm afraid we're NEVER going to see HA Mudflap. I thought these ROTF figs (especially Evac and Rampage) were going to be here and gone by the time the Generations, PCC's and the HFD stuff hit shelves.

Huh. I got my Arcee/Cybertron Ratchet way back at the end of February/beginning of March, I think. I don't quite remember the exact date. And I was really worried, because she seemed to be pegwarming at the nearest TRU (Eugene, OR), and I figured Hasbro wouldn't make another ladybot if she didn't sell well. Guess my concerns were unfounded.

I've been away from the internets for a few months but in the mean time I did finally find an Animated Arcee in Toys R Us! On the 3rd of July I went up to the nearest TRU (only a train ride to the end of the line then an hour wait for the next bus!) and there she was right next to the only other figure I wanted, War for Cybertron Optimus Prime! Talked to a guy I know that works there and he told me it was the last figure of the last box of Animated they had and the first figure from the first box of Generations they got.
After 7 month I GOT MY MOJO BACK, BABY!
