The trailer for James Cameron's Avatar is up on Apple. Plus I was lucky enough to get a ticket for Avatar Day tomorrow.

I'm pretty stoked about this movie since I'm a huge Cameron fan!

I must say that teaser looks amazing!

I was confused at first. Thought it was the movie based on the Nickelodeon show. Then I was like "wait, two movies with the same name?"

Then I realized that cartoon movie's film title is The Last Airbender instead of Avatar...

Nickelodeon movies and M. Night Shyamalan are doing the last Airbender live action movie to be released summer 2010.

Tomorrow, select IMAX theaters will do a special 20 preview of Avatar. People scrambled for limited tickets on Monday in order to get in.

That looks pretty bad, like Dr. Seuss meets Halo. There can't be much substance if they focused so much on making it flashy.

The visuals look cool, though the non-humans look oddly cartoony. Could be a fun movie but I'm anticipating a theme of questioning the morals of creating human-alien hybrids to possess as well as the morals of invading/colonozing another world, which is fine but it has been done often enough in the past that I hope Avatar executes good storytelling rather than come off as a preachy movie.

Not sure one way or the other about this. I do admit I am somewhat turned off by Avatar because of the stink Cameron had with the Nick cartoon (hence the reason it is only called "The Last Airbender") Funny too how Cameron has listed "Avatar Day" which turned out to be a title and subject of one of the Nick cartoon episodes.

That being said. The graphics do look a bit odd but not that bad. I don't know much about this at all so I will hold my final judgement until I get said info

Why does the CBI look like out of a computer game? The creatures look pretty good and almost real, but the machines and vehicles damn look at that mech in the beginning it looks so fake.

Looks pretty interesting and as far as I read about this movie, it's about this guy who doesn't give a crap about anything and then gets transformed into an alien and is the link between humans and those aliens (hence the name Avatar) then realizes that he suddenly does give a crap about something (the hot Alien princes) and then fights the evil humans to protect her and her dying species.

I was going to answer by posting an image of the Alien Queen chestburster from Alien3, but then I noticed that although it's covered in blood and has sharp teeth and all, it's still kinda cute.

Wasn't there like a cartoon or something a long time ago that had a similar concept? I mean Human gets turned into Alien thing and decides he has to protect the aliens he looks like now?

I still don't understand why the CGI for the techy stuff looks so, well unrealistic while all the organic and natur stuff looks well so natural for the most part?
I also don't get why this movie has managed to create such a hype that it gets a special day with a 20 min preview people fight for?

I'm more excited for Tim Burton's 9 then I am for Avatar...
