That sucks. The audio industry has also gone down the tubes. My dad is getting ready to clos the doors on a business he's been running for more than 20 years.
Hope you find something to support your family soon and hopefully before you have to start sacrificing your collection. I have a couple of friends who have had to sell off their various collections due to job loss.

Sorry to hear about it. I know what it's like. After the dot com bust in the early '00s, I was going from one job to the next. I was a computer programmer. My place was called Silicon Valley North, and all the programmers were moving into my city when programming was hot. When it went bust, there were so many programmers and no jobs. I got hit hard. Luckily I had no dependents like I do now.

Sadly it has been going around a lot down hear. My job just laid off ANOTHER 65 people this week. That's not including the few hundred they have laid off since August of last year and it doesn't look to be getting any better.

And yeah, even after that 45 minute a haute voix insano-studento crying/screaming/hyperventilating meltdown: still employed. I'm as surprised as you are. They must be desperate up here.

The key thing to remember in this climate is that there are jobs out there being advertised, granted they are few and far between, but if you need to put food on the table then forget about what you know and apply for anything you can get. Me and several friends of mine have done the same, its barely enough to live on, but the alternative is not having any money.
Just remember these things do pass and no matter how bleak it seems now, things will get better both personally and globally, you just need to adopt a positive attitude that you will get more work for you and your family and you will weather this current storm.
