I have to say that I hate myself for not starting sooner! =/ Well so far in my collection I got:

1. DOTM Shockwave
2. DOTM Megatron
3. Generations- Sergeant Kup

Just wanted to see what your guys recommendations were in regards to the DOTM line. So far, I was looking at:

1. Jolt
2. Thundercracker
3. Leader Class Ironhide

Thoughts?

well, leader class ironhide is a must get. and (to me) jolt is a must get. but im not big on thundercracker. not my cup of tea. also prepare to not have money.

i suffer from this, its what happens when your a plastic crack addict

also if you like kup then you would LOVE the rest of the classics/ reveal the shield/universe/classics 2.0.

Yes, Im fully aware of the "not having money" situation after going on a transformer Shopping Spree haha Luckily I work at target so I can scope out what we have +discounts D: I was a bit iffy about Jolt because of how plain he is but I really like the color scheme =/ Thats where Im undecided....

Im sad that i didnt start collecting when the classics/ RTS/ Universe/ Classics 2.0 were out. I was lucky to find kup at target among the countless cliffjumpers warming the shelf D:

i only saw one and snatched it up. never saw another one again. also, a cool voyager to get is skyhammer. i dont have him yet but man does he look cool! good luck on collecting

I like Skyhammer but I picked Shockwave over him D:

Need to go hunt for Ironhide in a few hrs...

Your call there. I'd say figure out if your collecting lots or certain lines? I've heard good and bad about Leader Ironhide as well as voyager Ironhide. I'd say go back a bit and read some of the older post and make your mind up there.

what you have so far fits under my catagories.

Movie lines and the "classics/generations/rts/universe lines.

How much of a discount do you get working at Target?

Yeah I've been reading up a lot on the ones im interested in. In the movie line, I a bit more selective about which Im going to choose.

Working at Target, I get 10% off + another 5% when i use my target debit card lol so 15% not much but its something haha

I suggest getting as many generations/RTS. these make for good representations of G1 characters and should not be missed! i highly suggest scourge,thundercracker,wheeljack and perceptor...

You know what else is a must get? Generations Thundercracker and DOTM Topspin.

Thundercracker looks cool
Jolt isn't the best but he isn't the worst *cough* The Twins *cough*
Leader Ironhide is good. He pulls in a smal bit of kibble, but otherwise, he's nice.

Welcome to the world of TF collecting!! If you want to go after some of the older lines like Reveal the Sheild and Universe, check out Ross, TJ Maxx, and other discounted stores. I stopped collecting for two yrs and I'm getting caught up by hunting at those places. Also, those places have figs from ROTF line. I just collect the ones that call out to me or are ones that I know are rare and hard to find. And if it has to do with G1, I'm all over that before anything else.

I would recommend Deluxe Ironhide and HFTD Optimus Prime (Voyager). Both of these are in the previous line not in the DOTM line.

Ok, Went shopping today and found and bought

1. Generation- cybertronian Megatron
2. Generation- cybertronian Soundwave

Have to say I'm pretty happy with them. Any other from the generation line still out that i can find with a bit of searching?

Buy all the Generations line!!.

Reveal the Shield - Jazz, Preceptor, Tracks and Wreck-Gar are a must have!

Check out some DOTM HA Basics - Sandstorm , Tailpipe and Reverb.

DOTM Delux - Crankcase .

DOTM Voyager - Skyhammer.

DOTM Leader - Ironhide and sentinal prime

I too hate that I took so long to start collecting. Im not a fan of the movie lines as I am only in the game to get revamped classics. I will say that the shock wave figure is awesome though. If he were to scale with my other figs Id have already gotten him.
As I said I cannot offer any opinions on the movie lines but as far as generations,rts (and if your going the ebay way) universe and classics lines are concerned......Ahem...

1.Cybertronian megs is great as is his optimus counterpart.
2.cup is great. love his face.
3.Scourge is a bit tricky to stand up but is a must have.
4. I recomend buying the rodimus/cyclonus two pack for the cyclonus alone. rodimus is kinda blah.
5.Im diggin drift and blurr more and more every time I look at em so add those in there too.
6.If you like the seekers then youll have to get thrust and dirge. Very good reinditions of their toon characters. Im not sure if you can still find thunder cracker or not (although Im being told you will soon be able to find him in abundance)
But unfortunately you will have to resort to ebay for the king of seekers and my personal fav. Talking ofcourse about Starscream. Great figure too BTW.
7.I love my jazz!!
8.I love my Ironhide!! (gotta go ebay)
9.I love my prowl!! (again. ebay. I think there is a rts version tho. Im not sure if the rts version should be available or not.)

So to summarize I recomend the classics,universe and generations lines in their entirety!!!

Ok it's been a while from the past month I managed to pick up

1. Scan Series Ironhide
2. Generation Dirge
3. Generation Blurr
4. Generation Scourge
5. DOTM Laserbeak
6. DOTM Spacecase

Only thing I found bad about laserbeak I got was one of his foot was loose... did this happen to anyone? or just me?

Really Tempted on DOTM Hatchet right now. How is it?
