Hotrodimust wrote:And he does look like he would make a good wrecker for the prime series because bulkhead was never a wrecker and he's now one so why can ironhide be one now.
Because, like I said, Ironhide served directly under Otpimus during the war, while the Wreckers were a subgroup of Autobots under Ultra Magnus' command. Bulkhead, however, was indeed a Wrecker, but then transferred to serve directly under Optimus later on in the war, joining him as a crew member of the Ark.

Hotrodimust wrote:Actually bulkhead started out in animated and in Japan bulkhead is iron hide so since bulkhead is one now you can kinda say so is iron hide lol
Except that Prime Bulkhead is still called "Bulkhead" in the Japanese version. The only reason Animated bulkhead was called "Ironhide" in the Japanese version of animated was due to their initial plans of making the Japanese dub of Animated to be a prequel to the Japanese dub of the movies, but this never came about, so he got stuck the new name (and Animated Ironhide became "Armorhide") with little good reason.

Well...crap, it seems that I'm wrong after all. I could have sworn that we saw the deluxe in Ironhide colors in a scan or something somewhere though...

Even if the Cyberverse figure didn't exist, anyone looking at pictures of Prime Deluxe Kup will see Ironhide. The color may be Kup-ish; but this figure's cues scream "Ironhide".

The figure doesn't make an altogether bad Kup; but I do wish the head sculpt was more distinctive and reminiscent of G1 and/or Generations Kup. In the pictures we've seen, he's got Ironhide's head (or something very close to it); so the whole figure comes off looking like green Ironhide. That's disappointing.

I was able to pick up the Cyberverse Ironhide today; and it's an outstanding addition to this line. I could totally see the Deluxe version of this figure (which I think we will get, even if we get Kup first) being my favorite Ironhide figure Hasbro's produced.

Who cares if this makes a crappy kup, you can't get any better than Generations kup.
I actually don't like this mould that much from what I see. Looks kind of boring. I guess I'm one of the few who actually likes the classics version, with all it's faults.

Armada Wheeljack was a turncoat Sideswipe lookalike. ;)

Plus, Prime Wheeljack did used to be a mechanic for the Wreckers, but has since come to fully embrace his warrior side (losing so many of his comrades also doesn't help matters). A lot can happen to a guy over a span of eons.

They made wheel jack a wrecker in the show if he was an inventor still it really wouldn't fit. And wheeljack is my second favorite autobot and I like how he is in the show but I kinda wish he still had the light up things on the side of his head when he talked but only when he has his mask up because it would look funny with him mouth moving

Well, the Wreckers need a guy to fix their stuff and make their weapons and such. Wheeljack used to do that way back when.

The Wreckers were their own unit who acted outside the system of authority. They would have had to had had their own resources and such.

Plus, they stayed behind on Cybertron when the Ark departed (which Ratchet was aboard), so there's no way Ratchet could have been there for them.

For what it's worth, that character has no relation to any other WJ. It's not even an homage. :P I suspect the name was just chosen due to availability. The character Downshift, the Wheeljack homage from Energon/Cybertron, was called WJ in Japan.

From UT Downshift's page:
"The Japanese version of the character was to be called "Downshift" (ダウンシフト Daunshifuto), like the English version, till he was renamed "Wheeljack" in accordance with the homage he became during the design phase. "

And I gonna agree with the popular sentiment about Prime Wheeljack. It sat a little strange with me at first, that they basically turned him into Drift, but after I saw the episode my complaints disappeared. He's a pretty great character.
