Re: KFC Tempest (Cyclonus)
All they had to do was make this voyager size. Without that I'm afraid it just doesn't have enough. It's a little weird they didn't go the voyager route, actually. KFC and UT are both in the same bed - they both use Xtransbots / CHMS. You'd think they'd talk and work this our between themselves. Or maybe they did and figured the size difference was alright.
The screen accuracy is very tempting. I may pick it up if is ever goes on sale. It's just not enough in the face of all the other great offerings at the moment.

I agree with others that say that the jet mode is top notch. It'd be nice if it was a little smoother in the joins, but I know how difficult that is for these toys. I like this slightly better than the Generations mold as the nose is a little flatter/more oval. The Generations version is very round.
Still, this is not enough to replace the Generations mold, in my opinion. I like there to be more differentiation.
I'm trying hard not to wade into this battle, if only because it's more like a bottomless pit.

Sorry about the mess guys. But both of you know I'm a sucker for a good argument. I don't blame you guys for finding it annoying. Just keep in mind the guy is making false accusations about me so I will respond. I like being more than just a screen name and an avatar on this site. Sure it makes me an easy target for haters, but it's all good. Has anybody else noticed that most of the guys who don't like me are all super discreet, don't say where they are from, and never share photos of their collection ?
As fun as this site has become without mods, maybe they should make a comeback. Several quit being mods last year. I think the last one finally got burned out dealing with all this drama.
On topic:
Is there really anything left to say about Temptest until somebody has the figure in hand ? (preferably somebody who paid for it, not a reviewer) And from the comments here, I don't think anyone's trying to take one for the team. Im not this time...

Okay, first, I love this guy's accent. Maybe that's part of the sell job here. Second, the figure really does look amazing. If I missed out on the Generations Cyclonus I would be all over this.
In fact, I am starting to waiver, much like I did on Mania King. I'm not thrilled about what I've heard of KFC quality. But this figure looks really, really good in the review...

Re: KFC Tempest (Cyclonus)
Saw Two Tempest Youtube Videos toy reviews last night. Didn't like what I saw.
Tempest in jet mode looks far too flat, Squished and One Dimensional. Noticed That Tempest has a Oversized Ultra scaled Robot head placed on a Deluxe robot body. Tempest and 2.0 Cyclonus in robot mode are the same height from the upper chest, upper shoulder and jet pack wings kibble.
The reason why Tempest has a 6.4 inch tall robot mode is due to his Oversized Ultra scaled robot head sculpt. Had Tempest had a regular normal deluxe robot head, Tempest would be the same 6.0 robot height as 2.0 Cyclonus.
Even one of the Youtube video reviewers said Tempest had a oversized robot head.
As far as the Tempest robot mode goes. It's not as curvy, not high sculpted and not shiny like the 2.0 Cyclonus toy is. Some of the joints tech looks a bit inferior. Not sure but it looks like Tempest's elbow joints are on pin joints. Don't care for the non-shiny dull colors the toy has.
Since this is KFC, I'm sure they are going to be releasing a glossy shiny metalic color scheme for this toy. Since Tempest is based off the Jizia garage kit wonderfest toy that eventually got a Metalic shiny color scheme.
Think creating a deluxe scaled 3rd party Tempest to compete with the HasTak 2.0 Cyclonus toy was a stupid move on KFC's part. Many like myself might have bought Tempest had he been 7.4 Inches tall robot mode Like UT Mania king. I might have bought Two KFC Tempest toys had it had a Eight inch Ultra scaled robot mode. that matched the MP Seekers Eight inch tall robot modes.
Looking at Tempest next to 2.0 Cyclonus. Think the HasTak 2.0 Cyclonus version wins by a landslide in both robot and jet mode.

Yep, I think that video pretty much sold me, at least on the jet mode which is what I'd be purchasing this guy for, but even the bot mode looks a lot better than I initially thought it did.
That jet mode is f**king perfection though. It's damn near MP level accuracy (though Takara would've obviously hidden those hinges
Yep, I think I'm gonna go ahead and put in my preorder on BBTS soon, though I'll wait just a bit to see if any news comes up about a darker/more 'purple' version of it comes around first
