And I've been asked not to flame the crap out of people. Kinda limits my options.
Oh, and the word you wanted was "board" not "bored." Feel better now?

Grow up Sledge. This is why people avoid parts of this site you know.

It's best to assume every link I post is NSFW, and every post I make is just me taking the piss.

How the hell did they get a mold? Does this mean there is one out there and we might see a real remake? I always wanted a Shockwave so if these are cheap ill buy one. I doubt it since they'll masquerading as the real thing. I already have a crappy KO version with a different head so this would be welcome in my collection.

I really doubt this'll be cheap. Probably be in a repro G1 box just to further annoy people who collect G1 toys and make it harder to know what you're buying on ebay.

I'd say they most likely bought a couple Shockwave's on Ebay and cast molds off of the toys and parts themselves Megatron_Wolf. It's how some reproduction makers repro G.I. Joe guns and such.

Where da love peeps?
I'm gonna assume they reverse-engineered the mold from the toy.
Cos, y'know, I'm told it happens

That's how they actually were able to reissue Soundwave, City Commander. They used old toys/parts to cast molds from.

I'll buy a ko Shockwave. I have had no problems with g1 ko's I bought in the past. I display orginals but sometimes i will blow some coin on a g1 ko just to be able to mess with it and not give a damn if I break it or what not. Sometimes I use ko's for kitbashing and such or spare parts for g1's.
I am sure they reverse engineered the mold to make the ko. that's why they are a little off sometimes. I have been looking for a ko Sunstreaker and Wheeljack. Not sure if they made em yet or not.

Yes, Wheeljack has been KO reissued in high quality, just go to yahobby.com or ioffer.com and look for it. But it costs $65.xx plus shipping...

I wonder if parts of it could be used to make the incomplete real Shockwaves that people have out there whole again. Not a bad thing.

TakaraTomy/Hasbro could reissue it if they were willing to repay licensing fees, and front the cost for them to recast the mold from toys. Because as it stands the mold itself is missing, which means there might not be a chance of finding it. The KO itself is most likely cast from actual Shockwave figures and not a copy of the mold. There's still hope that they will however because Omega Supreme has been reissued and he was also licensed from another company. Of course this also means that Jetfire could be reissued too (lol yeah right. Tatsunoko's not going to let that happen anytime soon.)
http://www.tformers.com/article.php?sid=9709No offense to anyone in this thread but next time instead of coming off as a stuck up basement dwelling neckbeard you might want to hit the newfags with the science instead. You know being helpful to them to keep them in the fandom and stuff. Instead of ya know...running them off by being smug about knowing more then them. Food for thought.
tl;dr don't hold your breath for an Encore Shockwave anytime soon, but it might still be possible.
You just got a warning for this post.
Thanks!

I think there is enough technology out there nowadays to remake any mold (whether or not the mold exists).

Just a note to the "KO haters", please don't try to get yahobby.com into problems. They sell the KOs as KOs and are honest sellers.
That doesn't change the fact that they're selling something that is counterfeit. It's kind of like the phrase "an honest thief".

Ok.. they aren't just throwing the parts from a dismatled transformer and casting negatives of the toy and pouring plastic in .. that just isn't how mold creation works, even reverse engineered ones. There are some means of doing something like casting, but it is very limited to the amount of shots/ cycles that it can go trough as well as the material that the finished parts can be made from.

As long as sellers are honest(and some aren't so we have to exercise caution) I have no problem with ko's. I have a really nice Shockwave but have wanted a box for it forever, and those don't often come up for sale. If the do a G1ccurate box for it I'm definitely getting one. keeping the box, and selling or repainting the figure in a more cartoon accurate lavender color scheme.

anyway, I just placed a bid on an original 1983 Radio Shack "Galactic Man" aka Shockwave...yes, I believe it was an American K.O. of the Takara Laserwave (if I'm wrong, let me know) So I hope I win!!
The grey one? I have one of those on my shelf (had it since it was new). He may have required some repairs over the years, and his battery cover may be missing, but he's still very, very cool.
Although he's "Galactic Man" I got him as Shockwave, since it's the closest that was released here. Made my Christmas very happy, that year. I think all the bleepy noises probably annoyed the hell out of my parents, though

Hope you win your auction

Thanks. Will know by tomorrow (Monday the 26th of Jan)

People who are down on KOs are starting to piss me off! I'd be so glad to get this Shockwave KO especially considering that I once paid $85 for a used Shockwave that can fully stand up. And how else are we going to get a true Bluestreak. I say if Takara to Dee DeeDee to put this out more power to the KOs. Speaking of which, I have not seen the true blue BlueStreak KO on Ebay. Does Ebay have some law about KOs or are retailers getting to uppidy to sell them?

Strangely enough, eBay have this policy of not allowing people to sell illegal items. Crazy, I know, but there it is.
