I just picked up Bruticus and I must say that it is pretty darned good for what it is. I love the individual bots and vehicles as well.

Why though, do they only include one Kre-O branded display stand/brick? Much less, why is it red? I would love for them to release just these in black so my preview waves and the balance of the combines have a stable way to display them? (I'm looking at you Spinister.)

Yeah, it bugs me a bit too, but not terribly. I do definitely think they should have one for each kreon, or at least two, so the gestalt can stand of them! I'm looking at YOU, Devastator. Personally, I just wish they were in colors corresponding to their faction. Red for Autobots, Purple for 'Cons.

To explain, Devy only has 2x2 panels for his feet, rather than the 3x2 that Superion has. Only the front of Mixmaster's and Scrapper's legs (behind the 'ankle' if you will) are pegged onto the plates, making him unable to stand. I don't understand why Devy doesn't have 3x2 plates, but meh. You can rig up something using some extra parts to make a strut for the back of one of his legs.

Take one of the 1x1 90-degree offset blocks, the extra 3mm 1x1 plate with the 3mm clip on top, and the extra black forearm/upper-leg piece and it makes a solid little strut that can hold him up. You won't see it looking at him straight on either.

Now, while Predaking ALSO has 2x2 panels, his weight is one peg forward on them, not backward (i.e. the kreon's legs are pegged firmly onto the 2x2 panel), so he balances just however you pose him.

Good to know on the others. I had a coupon from today's paper and saw them at Target. From what I had heard / read, most people said Bruticus was the best of the wave. As Predaking is next on my list, I am glad to know he isn't as troublesome.

As far as the stands, I would like just plain old black bricks. This way you don't have to worry about color scheme, factions or the like. I know I can get some Lego ones from my son's bucket of miscellaneous bricks, but I really like the logo branding on them.

Slighty off-topic, but what kind of coupon? I don't want to overlook something kreo related if it's a country-wide sort of promotion.

And yeah, it'd be nice, and they're doing better with the Kreo stuff as time goes on, so maybe we'll see a few more 2x4 bricks in the next wave of combiners. I REALLY hope they do Computron! I'm not too wowed by Defensor or Abominus (sadly, since I do likes me some Terrorcons), and I don't have any real attachment to Piranacon.

Sunday paper coupon section. Hasbro has a set of four. 2 off of Kre-O, 3 off of Beast Hunters, Another Optimus Kre-O set and a Bot Shot launcher one. They are good until sometime in April I believe. I am holding out for Shockwave to use the 3 off one, but Target has the Beast Hunters deluxes for 10 this week.

Yeah, I knew about the sale at Target, I grabbed myself a Smokescreen, there wasn't any reason to say no to a reasonable price.
